Hotel in a building close to Lake Bled.
Picturesque hotel in an old building, room on the second floor without an elevator, a bit cluttered with a lot of wood, which is different from hotels that all follow the same model. The bathroom is really small, however, the bedding needs to be reviewed and there are no blackout curtains, as the shutters are only decorative. On the other hand, nice table for dinner, breakfast was acceptable.

Small, tight, and not cozy
The front desk had a lovely, low-key approach on arrival — we were told to drop our bags, head down to the lake to grab cake and a glass of wine, and come back at 3 for our room. No orientation when we returned, no welcome drink or amenity, but at least the tone was relaxed.
The reality of the room: small and cramped. There was a table and two chairs taking up space we didn't need, which we had to move out of the way every night just to open our carry-ons. The bed was extremely firm and the pillows extremely soft, and between the two I didn't sleep well. Hot water was a plus — it worked well. In the bathroom, the hand soap was actually nice, but there was no body soap, shampoo, or conditioner, so plan on bringing your own.
Would we stay again? We would probably choose somewhere else.

As our check-in time from 3:00 PM onwards is clearly communicated across all booking platforms, we were a little surprised to see that this was mentioned as a negative aspect of your stay. After the previous guests had checked out, the room naturally needed to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for your arrival, just as we do for every new guest. We trust you can understand that this process requires a certain amount of time.
We are sorry to hear that the firmness of the mattress was not to your personal preference. Interestingly, the very same bed that you found too firm has been considered too soft by some other guests. Finding the “perfect” firmness is therefore somewhat of a lottery, as everyone has different preferences when it comes to mattresses.
As for the room itself, we would simply like to point out that our hotel offers rooms in different sizes and configurations — from smaller rooms to larger ones and family rooms. Guests can choose the type of room that best suits their needs, subject of course to availability. The furnishings and layout therefore vary accordingly.
That said, we are pleased that you nevertheless found several aspects of your stay that you enjoyed and that were more to your liking.

A wonderful place!
I just came back from a 2-night stay at the Old Bled House, and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a little off the main road but very close to the lake and various shops (bars, restaurants, post office, etc.). I liked the decor of the hotel and the restaurant. I stayed in a Deluxe double room (room 15) on the second floor, and I loved it though there was no lake view (all lake view rooms were already fully booked). The whole staff is wonderful. I interacted by mail with Ana and Neža who are 2 charming ladies.
The room was big and very well decorated. The Old Bled House is actually a 300-year-old farmhouse with a cozy rustic decor. There are no blackout curtains or shutters, but this did not bother me. I did not have breakfast so I cannot comment. I had dinner at the restaurant my first night and it was very nice. However, I recommend booking the restaurant as it is quite popular.
My only remark: there’s no full-length mirror which would be very helpful. A box of tissues would be appreciated. The toiletries are basic (only liquid soap) and the change of towels every 2 days. Those two things didn't bother me all that much. I really appreciated the fact that there are a lot of electrical outlets. I counted 11 in my room. In a lot of hotels, there are no outlet next to your bed...
I already booked a room to spend Xmas there with my best friend and I can’t wait to go back to experience the special atmosphere during this specific time of the year, hoping we will have snow to make the decor even more magical!

very cute traditional room, great ac and fans in room. Bed very comfortable, and staff are very kind and welcoming.

The 2-bedroom family suite with bled island and castle view was a tight space for a family of four and was in my opinion not worth the high price. On hindsight, renting a more spacious apartment would have been more comfortable and affordable. Good shower pressure but a small single bathroom. Be prepared to go up 3 flights of stairs if you have heavy luggage. The restaurant at old bled cellar was excellent and highly recommended. Hosts were friendly. Location was 5-10 minute walk from the lake and surrounded by good restaurants. In general, parking was hard to find and fees exorbitant in bled, so where you stay is critical.
