Classic old inn by the harbour

Staying at the Brigantine Inn in Historic Lunenburg was a lovely experience. It is located right across the harbour with a view of the Bluenose II.
Check-in is done at the pub downstairs, which makes me thing of sailors of a bygone time, who must have come in for a pint and room.
The rooms are clean. The building is older, given it is in the historic town, and the decor is well suited. All the rooms are up fairly narrow stairs, so may be difficult for people with reduced mobility.
Also note that street parking can be tricky and the inn does not have reserved spots. The location is otherwise incredible, just steps from all the lovely shops and sights, as well as across from the Bluenose II.
We would definitely stay there again when visiting Lunenburg!

I would not stay here again

We arrived at 2:40 and found we had to go down a dark dirty staircase to the pub to check in. Pub wait staff told us no check in until 3 so we waited outside on the sidewalk. No one checked to see if our room was ready a little early. Magically at 3 we could check in, again with the bar staff and when they weren’t serving tables. Room was ugly, tired, dingy and hot. There was an old air conditioner which was noisy but it worked. Air conditioner was very noisy on the balcony and blew hot air so both of us had to decide to be in the same space, air off and both outside or air on and both inside. A very poor overhead light in the room accessible only by pull chain so had to get in and out of bed to use the light. Hair dryer fell completely out of the wall when I went to use it. We moved only one bedside lamp to the bigger bed but no reading light at all for the second person. Shower was extremely small. There is no parking except for what you can find on the street. That parking is $2/hour with a 4 hour minimum from 10 to 5 daily. The hotel is in a good location but could not be used by mobility challenged persons.

No parking???

What accommodation has no parking? The Brigantine Inn. We checked in at the bar downstairs and were told that they had no parking and we could park three blocks away where there was free public parking. A no-parking space was where you unloaded your luggage and. The room was clean and comfortable and the view was nice. BUT the shower was very old and very small. It was the lack of parking that really coloured our view of this historic little inn. But I wouldn't stay here ever again.

Good location. We had to check in at pub/bar below which was very busy.and unfortunately no towels in room though they were delivered early next morning.

Wouldn’t rebook

Great location but the place could use some attention. The carpet outside out of the rooms is very dirty and needs a shampoo …not a great first impression. Bed was not comfortable at all. The extra comforter provided had a stain on it. I was relieved we were there for only 1 night.
