A Peaceful Escape in the Heart of Harare

My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the surroundings were beautiful and tranquil. I particularly enjoyed the gardens, which provided a lovely escape from the busy city.

The hotel is alright

I stayed at the Bronte hotel for 12 days.
The staff were all great.
Breakfast was really delicious!
But the pool was really cold. I was shivering when I went in the pool!
The toilet flush in the room was annoying as you had to hold it down for a long time before it would flush.
The room needs a refrigerator.
The hotel is not far from town. It's a good walkable distance but taxis are cheap if you use the in drive app rather than the taxis outside of the hotel.

Great hotel

Great hotel with special flair and services. Staff are very, very friendly and helpful and the location is just excellent.

The blankets were not provided in the room, and the sheets were not changed or replaced throughout my entire stay. The bathroom was also not cleaned properly, and the shower cap was not replaced.
I would recommend considering the installation of air conditioning in the rooms instead of relying solely on fans and heaters. It would also be a good addition to provide Bibles in the rooms for guests who may appreciate them.
The television sets are quite old and offer a limited number of channels. Upgrading the TVs and increasing the channel selection would significantly improve the guest experience.
The food was generally excellent. However, I would recommend expanding the menu to include a wider variety of traditional meals and local options, including game meat. This would give guests a broader selection and also provide an opportunity to showcase local cuisine.
I also noticed an issue at the Palm Restaurant that I found concerning. There appeared to be a difference in the way white guests and local guests were treated, with white guests seemingly receiving more attention and respect. This is particularly disappointing and is something we should not expect to see in 2026. The experience was uncomfortable enough that I ultimately decided not to dine at the restaurant. I strongly recommend that management look into this matter and ensure that all guests are treated with the same level of courtesy, dignity and respect, regardless of race or background.
Lastly, I would recommend finding a way to introduce room service at Queensgate. This would be a valuable convenience for guests who prefer to dine in their rooms, particularly after a long day.
