Great host

Our stay at Casona Mollepata was great! Ruben is a fantastic host and the food - cooked by Ruben's mom - was fantastic! Thank you so much for that! We felt completely at home. Comfortable beds in a clean room, a warm shower, hospitality and great food :) Muchas gracias, Ruben!

A Hidden Gem of a Place

I have traveled extensively in Perú. All over the country. I've been traveling in Perú for work and pleasure for nearly 30-years.
When you find a true gem of a place you find yourself in a conundrum - should I tell the rest of the traveler world about it?! Well, the Casona Mollepata is a place that everyone should know about and consider making a "must visit" destination. Nestled on a mountain hamlet in the sleepy town of Mollepata the Casona is an old hacienda with an attractive décor and an incredible host team.
From the moment I made a reservation - made in the car as we drove from Ica to the Sacred Valley - we knew we were in good hands. From a WhatsApp message confirming the reservation to GPS coordinates to ease our travels.
The Casona is very simple - but incredibly clean and well laid out. The restaurant is the first point of entry and it is worth an evening meal or two. The courtyard contains a number of art projects all crafted by the owner and his family.
The rooms are newly renovated, clean, and complete with hot showers, extra blankets and toiletries. What we enjoyed most about our stay was the true family-friendly atmosphere we experienced. We will most certainly be back.
A note for families traveling with little ones or travelers living with a disability - accessibility to the top floor rooms is a bit tough, as you need to navigate some narrow stairs. Not to worry - as there are ground floor rooms that can be accommodating.

Great place to stay in Mollepata

Stayed here before my partner and I started our Salkantay Trek. The host was very welcoming and accommodating, he even set up a taxi for our early morning departure for our hike! The accommodations comfy and the courtyard was nice as well. We got to see the gardens and meet the horse and try some new fruits! Would definitely recommend if you are staying in Mollepata!

Money driven

The place can be ok if the owners was not chasing money. When we arrived the lady wanted to charge us more than what we booked for on booking.com. They also worked together with a taxi guy that wanted to overcharge us for our next dat trip. They offered us free coffee that was on an outside table, but charge us for the coffee the next morning. We got the idea that they want to get as much money out of us as they could.
The room was ok and the shared bathoom was ok.
The WiFI did not work.

Clean rooms, great hosts

Clean rooms before setting out on the Salkantay trek. Very laid back, with a very nice couple running the hostel. There was always hot coca tea waiting for us, hot water and very helpful hosts willing to help us get taxis, restaurant recommendations, or anything else we needed. Overall great place to stay!
