Beautiful, landscaped Paradise
What a wonderful place to just getaway from all the hustle and bustle in the City. I booked a 3 night stay and ended up staying for 3 weeks. I write software for a living and would setup my laptops at the table on the porch and all the beautiful sounds of the birds and other animals just made it a perfect place to finish a piece of software I had been struggling with for a month. I can't say enough about the staff Lisa and Jose. The "Gringo" sets the atmosphere with his laid back demeanor. Don't waste anytime, if you need a break go there now!

Perfect Getaway!
We had a great time at Casa del Gringo! Had such a relaxing stay escaping the hustle of city life in Lima. My room was spacious, cool and equipped with everything I could need or want. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Spent most of my time relaxing by the pool and even had a massage during my stay. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Went out of their way to make me feel at home. Walter and Mary are excellent hosts and speak both Spanish and English. The food is some of the best I had in Peru thanks to Mary.
Would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway.

Relaxed Vibes!
We had a great room upstairs with a view of the grounds and blue pool. The air circulated in our room thanks two large windows. Everyone had the opportunity to get a message or relax in the sauna! Food was excellent! If you need anything they will make it happen. I will be telling all my friends about this place.
Located not too far from the action of Lima but remote enough to feel like your own paradise!

A traumatizing experience !
We bookedwith booking at noon and wrote an email alerting that we would arrive between 9-10pm. There was no check-in limit on the ad and they did not answer our message.
Due to an avalanche on the road and incrdible traffic, we called at 9:30pm to say we would arrive later. No one answered !
We arrived at 1:15am. Housekeeper wouldn't let us in ! Said she didn't know about our confirmed reservation. Boss hadn't told anything and she would not open receive any guests after 10pm ! She told us off and said we could find any other place to stay, or stay in a restaurant nearby !
She called her boss, who wasn't there, who told her, there was no reservation and ordered not to open.
We were extremely exhausted and weren't able to try to find any place at this time, neather did we know any other place, since there are very few.
We insisted to show here our reservation confirmation from booking, so she asked us to wait 10min. Some staff would come and atend us...
After 10 min. the security staff from the neighbourhood and the local police came (!!!), saying, that there had been a call from Casa del Gringo, complaining about us, who were disturbing , making noise, and asked them to remove us from the gate !
After explaining the situation to the police, showing the reservation and our passports, they understood us and made the housekeeper open the gate, receive us, and offer a room according to the reservation.
Once inside, ordered by the police, the owner os Casa del Gringo called us and all of the sudden, it was all a misunderstanig. However, she insisted in making clear, that we should have called at 8:30pm, because they don't answer the phone anymore after 9pm. Booking would know that, and it was all booking's fault !
The room is quite decadent. the ceiling is made of cheap Eternit corrogated tiles, which heat up the room already early in the morning.
The bathroom is disgusting and the shower is a joke.
No breakfast, no drinks to buy, no wifi, and all of this for US$ 53,00 + tax !!

Great getaway from the city
On a recent trip to Lima to visit family with our 9 month old baby, we were having fun in Lima, however, it seemed that we were spending most of our time in traffic trying to get to the parks and other scenic places in the city. After a week of fighting the traffic, we decided to venture out of the city and on the recommendation of an acquaintance, booked the ‘big house’ at Casa Del Gringo just outside of the city in Cieneguilla. The place was beautifully landscaped, had a huge pool and the accommodations were well kept and clean. The staff was very nice and always eager to go out of there way for our needs. The owner grew up in the U.S. and speaks both Spanish and English which was nice since I don’t speak Spanish very well. Overall, the peacefulness and tranquility of the grounds, the nice staff, surrounding restaurants and the available accommodations made for a fantastic visit with my family.
