Hardanger Basecamp

Ulvik is home to Hardanger Basecamp. Vangskyrkja and Flam Church are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Mikkel Parken and Labyrinten. Kjeasen Mountain Farm and Hardangervidda Nature Centre are also worth visiting. While you're here, you can enjoy all the comforts of home and more, including free WiFi and a garden, as well as a fireplace and laundry facilities. Other amenities include a refrigerator, a hair dryer, towels, and a picnic area. The property is closed during the winter season.

Amazing!!! Such a special place!

We stayed here after driving from Bergen to experience the Fjords… it certainly didn’t disappoint! The drive itself there was stunning and the surroundings to the camp are simply breathtaking. This was a perfect was to experience ‘posh’ camping in a cosy yurt with our own little campfire to cook on an evening. After having the delicious homemade pancakes in the cafe we were full for most of the day! We hired kayaks to take out on to the Osafjord and what an unforgettable experience, no words can describe it fully. We then hiked some of the local paths and village before soaking up the shore of the Fjord on an evening. The location is ideal to see some other local Fjords, we had a short drive (45 minutes) to Eidfjord which was also beautiful.
We feel very lucky to have for to experience Norway this way and one of the most special places I’ve ever been to! Thank you again for the kind hospitality and creating such a beautiful place. We’ll certainly be back!

Basic

Nice yurt, and nice concept.
Excellent service.
Unfortunately we had bad weather and then there is not much to do.
The yurt smells very smokey. Because you have to cook on fire and that's next to it. So your clothes also smell of smoke. You still have to add the cook add separately.. that is a disadvantage because otherwise you can not cook.
Location is nice, but only a few walking routes and a deserted village. You have to love it.
Pancake breakfast was top!
With good weather it would certainly have been more fun but there is no telling.
Walking to the toilet building is far and cannot be done in slippers. Clean toilet and shower!

Camping luxury

When you have tried glamping at Hardanger Basecamp, you want to throw away your tent. You get the experience of the nature while having 5 star luxury. Comfortable beds, clean room, great view and excellent pancakes for breakfast. Go there !

Amazing stay

One of the most amazing stays we have ever been. Osa was incredibly beautiful, and the Basecamps personnel were very helpful in guidance and tips for hiking trips in Osa and the surrounding environment. The yurts are a recommendation if you want to truly experience the Nordic nature, they are clean and a unique experience. Oh yeaj, pancake breakfast with local jellies!

Awesome Camping Experience

Our stay at the Hardanger Basecamp was amazing. The area and setting is very beautiful with the OSA fjord and the surrounding mountains. We stayed in a Tipi tent which was very nice and comfortable. The activities available at the B Nature center are really the icing on the cake. We did the guided Kayaking and the Fire making workshop and I must say they were really brilliant. For someone who has not tried kayaking before, I totally recommend taking a guided tour. With the Fire making workshop we got to learn so much about how we could start a camp fire out of basic things, which I personally found to be very interesting learning experience. Overall Kudos to Hardanger Basecamp, a must visit place if you are in Norway.
