Simple but good

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Uhland. It is located in a quiet area just slightly outside the Windhoek city center, which makes for a peaceful environment. The rooms are surprisingly large, very clean, and come well-equipped with A/C and a mini-fridge. The staff members are incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. There is also a nice swimming pool on-site. Breakfast is the standard spread you’d expect in Namibia—simple but good.

Too bad we were hoping for development

This time I find the entry very difficult.
I have been coming to Namibia for 30 years and to the Uhland again and again for over 10 years. Although we had paid for more less elsewhere the last few times, we wanted to come here again for sentimental reasons. Since I have often benefited from TripAdvisor, I feel obliged to share my impressions.
Unfortunately, I cannot share most applications in this case.
In our view, everything is loveless and in urgent need of revision.
The pictures speak for themselves. The whole thing, apart from the price, has the character of a youth hostel.
It also fits well in the picture that we (for weeks on the road) had had our laundry washed many times, with the difference that the laundry was clean elsewhere, but especially expensive here.
All in all, attention to detail is missing.

Uhland hotel

This is the hotel we chose as the starting point for our long self drive in Namibia, so much so that we chose it even the last night before returning to Italy. A simple and clean place. The staff, all women, welcoming, helpful and always smiling. Guests have access to a relaxing and quiet garden. In Windhoek there is not much to see but it is indispensable for refueling gas, food and water before departure. Be very careful in the evening, if you go out do not drink or at least not more than a beer, immediately outside the club you will find the policeman on duty determined at all costs to give you a ticket.
