Best Hostel in UB

Had a great time here, and could organize everything I needed. The staff helped me to organize my tour in Mongolia and provided me great advices and help. The location is cool, it's super clean, and the breakfast is very good. Thank you!

Amazing tour

We had a fantastic time on our three day tour of 'wonders of UB'. Doljmaa was so helpful and prompt in her email replies when we were puting the trip together. She was also there to greet us on our first day of tour.
Our driver Ziggi and guide Mando were amazing! We were there in the quiet season so it was just me and my boyfriend on the tour and we got on so well with them. Mando was very interesting and knowledgeable, and Ziggi was such a good driver, and even changed the cam-belt on the side of the road in less than half an hour. Hero! They took such good care of us.
The tour itself was fantastic! The camel and horse ride were fantastic as were the temples. The nomadic people were the highlight. They were so welcoming and staying with them seeing the way they live made it a real adventure.
Loved every minute! If you like adventure then these tours are incredible! Highly recomend!

Negative atmosphere and unfriendly owner

After our return from a 10 day tour that we had arranged via a different operator we stayed at Sunpath hostel during Naadam festival. The location of Sunpath hostel is good, the double room was big and clean. The breakfast was simple but okay. However what we didn’t like about Sunpath was the negative atmosphere that was mainly caused by the indifferent attitude of the owner and the fact that the staff/owner practically lives and works from the couch in the common area. In the three days we stayed at Sunpath the owner never looked us in the eye except at check out. Instead she was constantly looking on her phone while talking with us and didn’t actually pay attention to what we were asking. Due to her behavior we did not feel welcome in the hostel. Maybe if we had booked a tour with her, she would have been more interested and friendly to us.

Great Stay, Great Owner

Clean big rooms, comfy beds. Great wifi. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Nice kitchen facility. Very attentive receptionist who goes out of their way to help you. Doljmaa is very attentive and drops by to make sure we're taken care of. Went on a tour with Sunpath and was blown away by how well organised the entire trip is. Great driver, fantastic car and cheerful guides. Sunpath has a big huge thumbs up from me. I am touched by the hospitality received!

Very comfortable and clean guesthouse

My friends and I stayed a couple of nights at the beginning and end of our trip in Mongolia at the Sunpath Hostel. Although it was on the top floor of the building, so a bit of a climb with luggage, we found it to be very clean, neat, and the people friendly.
The location was fairly central making it easy to get to the majority of sites. I would certainly recommend it for a relatively inexpensive and comfortable place to stay in Ulaanbaatar.
