Bambukeyo Villa - you'll never forget...
Accidentally, while fighting stormy sea and heavy rain, we stopped by at Gaadifushi island. My little girl was shievering from cold, so we found shelter in local school teachers' house, thanks to the school Director and his teachers (Anu, George and Ibrahim, you saved us and we'll never forget you!). Luckily a free room was available in a new hotel called Bambukeyo Villa. And it was a wow-experience! Spatious clean rooms, white immaculate bed-lining, nice, cosy and safe inner yard, full of Breadfruit (Bambukeyo in local language) trees and perfect for children's activities. Exotic bathroom with big plants around the shower added to the special impression of this atmospheric hotel. Food - simple, clean and healthy, just right.
Radeeb, the hotel owner, walked us around the island, we were charmed by local nature and life. The island people are adorable, their and Radeeb's hospitality made us feel protected and home-like even though we were thousands of miles away from our Kazakhstan.
The hotel offers a full set of Maldivian trips - diving, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing (including night). What's special about Bambukeyo villa is a beach island nearby, connected to Gaadifushi with a sand bank, so the guests can walk to the island instead of taking a speedboat.
Overall experience - tranquillity, harmony and charm.
How to get here - Regular (3 days a week) flights from Male to a neighbouring island Thimarafushi, then speedboat 10 min to Gaadifushi.
By chance, during a storm at sea and heavy rain, we stopped by Gaadifushi Island. My daughter was shaking from the cold, so we found shelter in the teachers' home of the local school, thanks to the principal and his teachers. Fortunately, a spare room is available at the new Bambukeyo Villa. And that was wow!!! Spacious clean rooms, flawless white linens, beautiful, cozy and safe courtyard full of bread trees (bamboo in local language), perfect for children's play. An exotic bathroom with large plants around the shower completes the special experience of this atmospheric hotel. The food is simple, clean, and very healthy.
Radib, the hotel Owner, strolled around the island, we were fascinated by the local nature and life. The inhabitants of the island are charming, thanks to the hospitality of them and Radib we felt safe and at home, even though we were thousands of miles from Kazakhstan.
The hotel offers a full range of Maldives tours - diving, snorkelling, kayaking, fishing (including night tours). What is special about Villa Bambookeyo is the nearby beach island connected to Gaadifushi by a sandbank, so guests can reach the island on foot rather than by speedboat.
Getting there: Regular (3 days a week) flights from Malé to the nearby island of Timarafushi, then by speedboat 10 minutes to Gaadifushi.
The overall impression is calm, harmony and charm.
