the best hotels in Ventspils

I travel time to time to Ventspils, and this is the first place there I felt like in the hotel. The house is old one, from ~1850, so to develope the hotel was quite challening and it is not (and could not be) like the hotel build for this purpose. Staff ir friendly an open.
Breakfest was really good, I was served excellent coffe and individually made omelette, it's pitty that I hadn't possibility to have lunch or dinner at their phantastic and charming restoran.
That I really know- I will return next time then I will be in Ventspils.

Not meeting the requirements...

Unfortunately, Ventspils is generally famous for its lack of quality hotels, and especially in winter - the choice is limited to a few guest houses. Several years ago, Kupfernams seemed to be quite high-quality, because a cafe (restaurant) was open during the day and in the evening - now it does not work. (There are also problems with quality catering in Ventspils in winter). The rooms are small, with poor ventilation and no soundproofing at all. The positive - you can order omelets and pancakes for breakfast.

Really cozy rooms and very friendly staff

From the outside this guesthouse could maybe need a coat af paint but it is really cozy and clean inside. And it has a nice garden by the cafe. Even the house cat is friendly!! The location is good and within walking distance of all attractions. Be sure to try their very nice pancakes for breakfast.

The hotel itself was very lovely BUT..

The hotel itself was very nice, old style but everything kept nice & comfy.
Found it a bit odd that I had to go into a hair salon to check in and there was a counter at the entrance but it wasn't for the hotel - a bit confusing.
My biggest issue was - we didn't get any sleep. The rooms have no AC so we had to keep the window open - the seagulls were VERY loud and there was a beeping traffic light very near so it was going on all night long. And the people in the next room woke up before us and we could here the floor squeaking though they were only walking.
Hotel was nice but unfortunately no sleep for us and sleep is what you expect from a hotel.
Should consider getting AC's, that would help with seagulls and traffic lights at least.

Very romantic.

It is not a romance of plastic roses an PVC Chinese made hearts. Hotel was built in very old city house and situated directly inside old town. It is self service hotel -staff give You keys from entrance and room and leave You (I like this approach). Breakfast is very tasty (especially brilliant crepes). Don`t drink a lot - stairs is bent and narrow and room includes neat old beam construction. Rooms are cosy, with great bed and big shower. Highly recommended for couples who like cats, and dislike popart.
