Not to be missed

It's not a five star hotel and it doesn't charge five star prices but it does deserve a five star review for what it delivers.
Great location in Riga Old Town, helpful staff, hearty breakfast, clean and comfortable room, great value and I slept well throughout my stay.
Very happy guest!

Not a place to stay in

I can't recommend this hotel, even as a budget place. It's old, dirty, unkempt, and smells bad, starting right from the reception. The room also has an unpleasant smell of sewage. The beds are very uncomfortable, the mattresses are hard - we were not able to sleep well. There is no hand soap in the bathroom, but they provide shower caps. Soap only in the shower! Breakfast is minimal.
The only bonus of this place is the location

The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a very good location. I had breakfast one morning, it was fine. The staff were nice enough, but one man at the front desk smelled quite bad and honestly the whole lobby and stairs smelled too. It was a nice hotel and had a good stay, but they should speak to that employee to make a more pleasant atmosphere.

Noisy!!!

Hotel without more, only advantage allows to discover the old town on foot.
Standard room, problem with a bed, it made so much noise with every movement that we ended up on the sofa bed..
Paid parking is available about 300m away so plan to unload the suitcases next to the hotel.
Classic breakfast without more, not much sweet.
But the most disturbing is the noise: a bar is right in front and the square next door does not help either, noise until 1am and in addition the people who were supposed to be there were in the hotel so that in the corridors a lot of noise!!
Not very relaxing.

Can't recommend this hotel

We had ordered city view, but got a room where all the curtains had to be pulled for, so all those who lived opposite could not look in to us. In short, we looked into the walls and there came food smell morning and evening. There was so hot that all windows had to be open, therefore the smell of food. Gaffa tape held tubes together on the toilet and mold in joints in the shower. Breakfast was awful. The staff was not very customer friendly.

Regarding the food smell, please note that our hotel does not have an evening restaurant on-site. The odors may have originated from nearby restaurants in the Old Town area, especially with windows open during the summer heat.
