A beautiful place and a real honour to stay here as a westerner. Robes and amenities were provided and the baths were excellent including an outdoor area. Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. There was even a mini stamp rally around the building which was great for us and our teen child to explore. The building interior was like a maze with beautiful objects and resting places all around and overlooking the garden.

Hot Springs Hotel with a historic sense

Very old-fashioned hotel, the atmosphere is good, the Japanese garden is beautiful, breakfast and dinner are delicious, the staff is nice.

Cheap and affordable accommodation

The couple enjoy the hot spring inn. This time I found a cheap coupon on a travel site, so I revisited Hoshi. We know that the facility is aging, so we enjoyed it, including in that area. The faucet of the public bath is broken down, but it seems that it has been renovated little by little. Showers were also better than before, although there were tsukkomi spots. Breakfast and dinner are as good as before, and I'm happy with the price. I'm sad that there's no old gyuran stir-fry, but I'm going to revisit it with a cheaper coupon.

Staff are very welcoming and some can communicate in English. This onsen town seems quiet but the ryokan itself is good enough for a stay-in trip to relax and use the onsen. Try to visit Natadera temple before you check-in.

Our room was amazing. We loved having our private onsen, and took every opportunity to use it to relax and rejuvenate our bodies. Both of us felt very taken care of, and it was the highlight of our Japan trip. It was nice to be able to slow down and recuperate.
That being said. If you have an allergy to a certain food, make sure you let them know in advance so they can prepare your breakfast properly (they start preparing breakfast the day before, so if you didn't tell them in advance, they can't change it).
