We were very satisfied with this hotel. We stayed in a ground-floor room with a garden, and it was especially relaxing to fall asleep each night to the sound of rain. The hotel staff were very polite and offered services in Japanese, English, and Chinese, making communication very convenient.
We also booked the hotel’s kaiseki dinner, which cost 7,000 yen per person. It’s recommended for adults, but not for children, as they may not enjoy this type of cuisine.
The hotel’s hot spring facilities were excellent, offering private family baths, women-only baths, and mixed baths—providing a variety of options. On the day of check-out, the hotel even arranged a vehicle to take us to the bus station, which was very thoughtful.
The only minor drawback was that we could hear footsteps from the room above. Occasionally, when someone walked upstairs, the sliding doors in our room would rattle slightly. That said, overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Located near the bus stop which was very convenient and the food was great. However, the public bath is not super clean.

Very relaxing stay. Room was lovely, homely and comfy. Food fantastic, apart from raw horsemeat that was served which wasn't for me. Onsen was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy to get to from the bus from Hakata. It's the first ryokan down the hill from the bus stop. There's no sign in English outside but google translate confirmed we were at right place.

This was my first experience at at ryokan, and the inn is one I would gladly visit again. Great staff, comfortable beddings, fantastic exteriors, and amazing spa facilities (both public and private). It's a bit of a walk from the main town, though.

The food was delicious and the staff was very responsive.

I stayed for the consecutive holidays in November.
When I pulled up in front of the inn, the staff moved my car.
After checking in, I tried to remember to go for a walk nearby, but they saw me and prepared shoes for me!
Basically, I think the staff service is good.
Kurokawa Onsen's riverside inns are all old buildings.
This inn is also old, but it's been cleaned inside.
Hot springs are not very thick.
There are indoor and outdoor baths, but you can enter the indoor or outdoor baths from the dressing room, and you cannot go directly to the outdoor baths.
It is a pity that there is no shower in the open-air bath.
The meals were all delicious, and I asked for additional horse sashimi, but the amount was large and very delicious!
Breakfast was so full, so varied!
This time the room charge was 28,600 yen for two meals per night.
I don't think it's expensive or cheap.
