A very convenient location for Venice-next to the train station

NO AC- Beware!!

NO A/C for the entire stay! This hotel is a big disappointment. Buyer beware, you have been warned!
I know all the reviews are raving but this review will not rave about the terrible experience from check-in to check-out. I was there from May 22-25, 2026, my travel agent booked it.
This building is not in the main hotel, its down the street around the corner from the main hotel. If you ask for any help like getting the AC to work, it's an effort for someone to show up and know how to fix it.
First, when I checked in, the last guest forgot to return the keys. I was given the managers keys, with a catch, the front desk wanted the keys back to make a copy. I didn't receive any apologies from the hotel about this inconvenience or for the AC not working. The only one who cared was the housekeeper because she couldn't get into the room to clean without the manager keys.
Second: NO AC!! I was there for 3 nights with the avg temp around 85-87 degrees. They sent the tech, I was told to wait 15 minutes maybe it will turn on, no luck! He did bring a fan on the last night.
Third: Breakfast was included in the rate consists of a basket of 2 pieces of bread, 2 muffins, one very small jar of mixed fruit and coffee if you can get a server to wait on you. The waitstaff lacks training. This was the continental buffet. I asked the waiter if I can order eggs yes but it's an additional 6 euros. Breakfast was 30 euros!!
Fourth: After a hot day and no AC in the room, I wanted to take a shower before going to bed, how about a cold shower! No warm water only cold, it was one way to cool down but not exactly what I was thinking!
I told my travel agent about my terrible experience in a very expensive hotel. My travel agent wrote a formal letter of compliant to the hotel manager asking for a price adjustment on the bill, as of today, June 1, 2026, my travel agent has yet to get a return phone call or email.
I hope this helps you think twice about booking your stay, find another hotel.

Break in
Very strange experience, all was good until we got back into the apartment after dinner. Climbed into bed and suddenly one of the hotels employees just walked in, this was after 21h00.
We were on the 5th floor and there are only 2 apartments on that floor so when this guy walked in unannounced we got quite a fright. He realised we were there and he just turned around and walked out.
I immediately phoned the reception and raised my concern with this break in. Was his intention to find my wife on her own or to steal from us. The official response from the hotel was that he wanted to look at the bedding.
Next morning when we checked out, NOT a word from the hotel. No explanation further or an apology.
I could not sleep further as I was worried he wil come back, so I CANNOT recommend this place to anybody as it is not safe.

This unfortunate incident was the result of a front desk error: upon your arrival, although the room keys had been handed over, your check-in status was not correctly recorded in the system. For this reason, the colleague, believing the room to still be unoccupied, went up to verify that your request regarding the bed configuration had been properly fulfilled.
As per procedure, he did knock before entering, but receiving no response, he mistakenly assumed the room was empty. He was of course unaware that you were already inside, and under correct circumstances we would never have disturbed your rest.
We sincerely apologise once again for the inconvenience caused.

We loved several aspects of our Suite: the location, the historical façade and ambience, the quality of bed linen and the fact that we were on the 5th floor which was bright and airy. Also, full marks to the Hotel Continentale staff who were incredibly helpful - they cannot be faulted. Our big problem was that to all intents and purposes the advertising for the suites leads you to believe that they are fully equipped ie similar to an aparthotel. They are most certainly not...on arrival we were surprised to find no dish soap, tea towels, toaster, decent cutting knives, chopping boards, salt/pepper, oil - I could go on. We have stayed in aparthotels round Europe and these are considered basic. On speaking to reception they do not view the rooms as apartments, simply large suites with a kitchen, pans, washing machine etc. It doesn't really make any sense, especially given the pretty high price. The hotel staff were great and helped out with a few bits and pieces as we had planned to cook for ourselves because my wife has a health condition which makes it difficult to eat out. The hotel needs to decide what it's actually offering and make it clear to potential customers; at present we believe the advertising to be misleading. This should be sorted out. On smaller points, coffee pods in the room are charged at 1 Euro - penny pinching when customers are already paying a substantial amount . Also, the air conditioning was faulty when we arrived though it was fixed eventually.

Fantastic location/airport shuttle super easy to navigate/staff were incredibly helpful and professional but friendly too!

We actually stayed in a suite opposite the main hotel- every convenience was there/washing machine/dishwasher/crockery/microwave / excellent storage and a gorgeous room!
