Excellent!

Matera by itself is already a spectacle. Staying in one of so many "sassis" makes everything even more magical. There are others more luxurious (and more expensive) but the Hotel Sassi surprised us a lot! Each room is different, ours was encased in the rock, near it we had a balcony practically only ours, which allowed us to enjoy the evening after dinner, in a restaurant nearby. Clean, rustic but well-decorated accommodations, all to leave you in the city atmosphere. Breakfast very good, and in this space there is another balcony, where we enjoy the afternoon with a good wine in glasses. About the Attention: very cordial and attentive, at all times! We broke a glass, I went to inform and see the cost. The manager just smiled and said, "Well, it must have been a good time." It is these details, among all the rest, that made our stay excellent!

Amazing Hotel with Stunning Views

This hotel is amazing. There honestly aren’t the words to describe how wonderful it is. The views are phenomenal. The rooms are spacious very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly highly recommend.

Breakfast was a buffet with a good selection of cold foods, coffee, tea etc. The room was very spacious with a fridge and TV. There was no safe available in the room. The bathroom had both a bath and excellent shower. One thing we didn't like was a window shutter out of reach on a string to open and close. However it didn't close properly so the sunlight came into the room very early. When you are not a great sleeper anyway this was disappointing. There is a bar in the hotel which closed early but a member of staff got some drinks for us when requested

What a wonderful place!

A wonderful hotel with enormous value for money, in the best location in town, fabulous view, good atmosphere and friendly staff.
If there’s anything that could be improved, it would be that the breakfast staff would not make such incredible amounts of noise banging cups and talking to each other loudly in that open kitchen without any break while the guest are trying to have breakfast in the same room - the breakfast spread by the way is absolutely divine!

Matera

4 out of 5, especially for the kindness and professionalism of the staff, a special mention above all to the girl in the breakfast room, very good; for the rest, small rooms, essential furnishings, small bathroom, the hotel is right in the Sassi in a restricted traffic zone, not reachable by car, so with large luggage it becomes tiring to reach it considering that there are also some large steps to climb.
