Living room and restaurant
A sort of diffuse hotel, it looks like a very small village, nice rooms and well furnished. There is no TV and the phone takes little, like Wi-Fi in the upper rooms. It is not a disservice, it is a choice of management to have more tranquility, the will and that is in an oasis of peace and in fact silence reigns, sounds of nature.
Reception in the evenings is not always active particularly when the restaurant is closed.
Welcome on arrival excellent, a very polite and professional guy told us everything there was to know.
You can go for breakfast at the restaurant, with excellent quality and variety of local products, the same that make you have in your room with a basket adding a small surcharge, to enjoy it on the veranda in peace. Breakfast in both cases is extra at the cost of the room.
A few days here for great relaxation!
When we arrived the light to go up to the first floor of the house did not work, we warned for 3 days in a row, nothing...staircase remained in the dark throughout the stay (first note out of tune)
Restaurant
7-course tasting menu for 95 euros (2 starters, 2 first courses, 2 meats, dessert).
The frico on the stick gave me more the idea of a pan-cooked Parmesan cheese
Excellent char with good acidity and moist at the right point. Good zucchini but it is a dish that lacks something. Very good eggplant tortelli is fantastic small pea flour dumplings. Very pleasant duck cooked perfectly and well matched. Surprising sorbet with vinegar.
We skipped the veal by choice.
Another surprise is the elderberry marinated watermelon dessert.
Choice of wine made with the sommelier to whom we described the type of wine we wanted, not apt the proposal because completely far from the request, promptly replaced with other wine and this time very central choice. But I don't like that the wine is not opened at the table, but the bottle already opened arrives (second out of tune note)
Good service, but little value towards the dishes, having some information on ingredients and preparation methods for a restaurateur with a star would be better.

Great disappointment
The value for money for the 5 course menu was extremely poor, one course was quite good, the dessert too, the rest completely unimaginative and boring. The main waitress from the first minute absolutely unfriendly and completely off. The Somelier is also in a remarkably bad mood.
We had been there about 18 years ago and very satisfied. That's why maybe our expectations are high. But again, we will certainly not go there!

Simply wonderful and romantic
Each house is equipped with all comforts. Refrigerator, dishwasher, stove or fireplaces, perfect bathrooms, with ceiling shower, in some houses even a bathtub in the room. This is because you don't necessarily have to dine at the restaurant (extraordinary which I will talk about later) but you can use the house as a starting point for excursions in the woods, by bike or on horseback.
The furnishings are rustic, warm, welcoming. Almost all the houses have small terraces, with wooden tables and benches where you can eat or have your own breakfast, brought every morning with all the local goodies: from speck to cheeses to yogurt to honey jams; all delivered to the door by the hotel staff in wooden baskets wrapped in tablecloths with crochet lace.
In addition to the two restaurants, the structure has a swimming pool dedicated to hotel guests, which with great foresight is reserved only for those aged over 14: to maintain a high level of privacy and silence in this area too.
Dinner at their gourmet restaurant, as well as lunch at their tavern, is an unforgettable experience. Fine dishes, served with care, kindness and attention, a cellar rich in wines, courteous staff, a sommelier who playfully helps you choose the wine.
The atmosphere is romantic, intimate, warm at all times. It's really a shame when you have to leave. While you are leaving, you already have nostalgia and the desire to return.

Suspended in time.
On the border with Slovenia, among traditions, revisited but always smacking of history. The story of a family, offered to everyone, but each with their own role.
The bright apartments immersed in the woods are charming and equipped with comforts.
Wi-Fi and television are absent: in this way you finally connect with the sounds and smells of the forest.
A fabulous breakfast in the morning: you feel suspended in time.
