Beautiful and thoughtful hotel with great staff

The hotel was very clean and well decorated with many thoughtful touches design wise. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious and the late check out is very helpful. The staff are amazing and kind and helpful and the hotel offers so many services. Though the only thing I would say is in the basic rooms it stays very damp after taking a shower for a very long time afterwards in the room. But other than that I fully recommend this hotel

A Boutique Stay Full of Character

I had a wonderful four-night stay at Abode Bombay and would happily stay here again.
I booked one of the Luxury Rooms on the first floor and loved the overall feel of the hotel. It’s housed in a beautifully restored heritage building with lovely architecture, high double-height ceilings, and a relaxed boho-chic design that gives it a lot of character.
The room was spotless, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and everything I needed was provided. I especially liked the little details, from the quality toiletries to the surprisingly comfortable jute slippers, which honestly looked good enough to wear outside! I also appreciated the hotel’s sustainable approach, with copper water jugs instead of plastic bottles.
The staff were warm and welcoming throughout my stay. A special mention to the ladies in charge of the breakfast service each morning—they were always so polite, friendly, and attentive.
Breakfast was excellent, with a nice mix of Indian dishes that changed over the four days I was there, along with fresh fruit, cereals, juices, and eggs cooked to order.
Having Subko Coffee in the hotel is another big plus—perfect for a great coffee and a croissant.
The location is hard to beat. It’s just a short walk from the Gateway of India and surrounded by plenty of cafés, restaurants, street food, and Mumbai’s beautiful heritage buildings. Getting around the city is easy from here.
My room faced the road, so if you’re a very light sleeper you might hear bustle in the evening, but it quietened down after midnight and wasn’t an issue for me.
Overall, Abode Bombay is a charming boutique hotel with plenty of personality, thoughtful details, and genuinely warm hospitality. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Mumbai.

Solo stay

Amazing staff and the hotel is located at a very central location, making it very accessible to all the hot spots. The breakfast served was really good too. I genuinely loved my stay there and will make sure to keep it in mind for my future visits to Mumbai.

Absolutely fantastic! So comfortable, warm staff, the best location and top hygiene. Highly highly recommend for anyone and everyone who visits Mumbai or wants to do a staycation!

Best kept secret in Mumbai - exceptional & unique hotel

Booked based on reviews online, and Abode Bombay more than lived up to our expectations. We stayed twice in May (in between trips to Matheran and Goa) and it was a true delight. Stepping into the lobby and the calm, peaceful atmosphere of the hotel was a treat every time - an escape from the heat and busy life in Colaba / Old Bombay. The staff were exceptional, always friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Special mentions to Ash and Ganesh who helped us with many different requests relating to train tickets, Uber journeys, bar recommendation for watching IPL cricket etc. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed and nice touches like eye masks and copper pots with drinking water. Delicious home-cooked breakfasts each day which were always varied, and lovely to experience different flavours from Mumbai. This hotel is the best kept secret in the city (!) and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Hope to come back one day
