The perfect luxury hotel in Budapest
I stayed at the Kimpton BEM for one week and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is very stylish and has a modern interior design. There’s a great light-filled lobby with high ceilings and a superb entrance door from which you can see the beautiful tree-lined avenue from the inside.
Overall, the atmosphere throughout the hotel is very positive and generally more „relaxed „ and not too formal compared to other 5-star luxury hotels. It is located on the Buda side, a 2-minute walk from the river promenade, which offers a great view of the Hungarian Parliament, especially in the evening and a maximum 30-minute walk across the bridge to the center of the Pest side.
The advantages of this location are: it's very quiet at night, both in the hotel's neighborhood and within the hotel itself. The walk into the city center offers great views and allows you to experience other parts of Budapest's local neighborhoods. Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle can be reached on foot in 20 minutes as well as Margit Island.
I had a Deluxe King Room with a garden view and furnished balcony, which is ideal for one or two persons who want peace and a quiet night. The room lacked nothing, it was very clean, and the mattress quality was excellent. Since some guests here and on other review sites have complained that the floor floods after showering, I must say that I cannot confirm this. Everything in the bathroom is perfectly installed. The bed linen was of high quality, but unfortunately the towels were not. In a luxury hotel, I expect thicker and more comfortable towels.
However, the standout features of this hotel are the excellent, professional service in all areas and the outstanding cuisine. I definitely recommend having dinner at the Agos Restaurant; you won't regret it.
Breakfast: Personally, I would rate it as very good but not exceptional. There's a moderately large selection at the buffet, but only a small menu of additional à la carte dishes (if you book breakfast included). The selection of fruit/cut fruits is very limited and doesn't change. For guests who enjoy pastries and sweets in the morning, there are waffles, croissants, and pain au chocolat, but no cakes / pancakes.
As far as service is concerned, you'll be very well looked after at this hotel.
Someone will immediately take care of your luggage as soon as you get out of the taxi, while you are greeted very warmly and professionally with a glass of champagne at check-in. Check-in and check-out are seamless – the reception staff are highly motivated, intelligent, and polite despite their young age. A concierge is also available to help you plan your sightseeing in Budapest or with any other requests.
Despite the minor things I liked less, this hotel offers excellent value for money, and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

Additional information for travelers to Budapest: The city of Budapest is uniquely beautiful but very large, and to discover the main sights on foot, you will need at least 3-4 full days for a relaxed visit.

Lovely hotel, excellent staff
We enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Ben in Budapest. The staff at both the front desk and the breakfast were outstanding.
The room is somewhat small, but it contains two chairs, a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom.

Anniversary
We chose the Kimpton to Celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary, and I am pleased to say it far exceeded our expectations. The building is stunning from the reception to the rooftop bar Fennen. Our meal in Agos was amazing. However the thing that stood out the most was the customer service this was defending 5 Star ⭐

My second stay at Kimpton in Budapest, and once again, I left completely convinced that this is truly one of the best IHG hotels I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.
It is an incredibly stylish hotel with a unique energy, but what makes it truly special are the people. There is something wonderfully relaxed, warm and genuine about the atmosphere, and you immediately feel that the team genuinely cares about their guests.
A very special thank you goes to Barnabás, with whom I was in contact even before my arrival. I also had the pleasure of meeting him personally at the hotel, and I cannot thank him enough for everything he did to make my stay in Budapest a true 10/10 experience. His attention to detail, kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference and were genuinely appreciated.
I was also fortunate enough to receive a beautiful room upgrade with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. It was absolutely wonderful. The hotel truly feels like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the vibrant city of Budapest, while the location itself is simply fantastic.
The check-in experience was smooth and welcoming, and the lovely lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and made me feel immediately at home. I also want to give a special mention to Evelin at the reception, who was extremely friendly and lovely to talk to. These little personal interactions are exactly what make a stay memorable.
Thank you to the entire team for such a beautiful stay and for creating an atmosphere that makes it so easy to feel at home. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Budapest and, without a doubt, to staying at Kimpton again.
