Views from river view rooms were exceptional. However, the noise from boats and local establishments was an issue. We were on the 4th floor and toyed with asking to be moved to a
Higher floor, however the staff on reception at checkin were slow and not at all helpful, so we decided to put up with it. Turning the fan on the air con up did the trick.
Service in the bar was slow, and the staff at breakfast were also slow, so quite often they ran out of plates, glasses, tea pot lids! As well as some of the hot food. So one had to be patient. I knew they did champagne at breakfast but couldn’t locate it and when I asked they simply pointed
Me in the direction of where it should be. It was not there and the two ladies at the breakfast reception just carried on their conversation.
So overall if you appreciate good service, this isn’t the place for you. However if you want an awesome view of the Buda landscape along the river then ask for a river view room on as high a floor as you can get.

The exceptional people will make your stay enjoyable

We absolutely enjoyed our four day stay at the Intercontinental. The location was exceptional for easy access to the Danube, local transport, and viewing the St Steven’s Day celebration. Much is said about the room needing updates, but while they could be modernized a bit, I think it might take away from the welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff. The beds, shower, and other room amenities were quite satisfactory.
We had Lounge access. Anges, your staff is awesome. They were so welcoming to us foreigners in your beautiful country. Thanks to everyone on the team!

Not quality as used to be.

I found a very poor service. Calles twice to room service, no body answered in 15 minutes each call. Then push a button that supposedly connect with someone that can resolve any issue. I was told someone was going to call me to place my order. Never received that call. Has to call again and finally I got my order one hour and a half later. The TV was old and could not stream. When checked out I was charged for my consumotion but my deposit has not been reimbursed, so I was charged twice. Definitely not Intercontinental quality. Has stayed here several times, never had so much trouble!.

Great stay at InterContinental Budapest, highly recommend.

A fantastic three-night stay at the InterContinental Budapest.
I loved receiving a room upgrade on arrival, and check-in was seamless. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing local information and clear details about the hotel, including where breakfast was served and how to contact the front desk if we needed assistance.
Our room on the seventh floor was a great size, well equipped with lovely amenities, and offered fantastic views over the Danube. The daily breakfast was another highlight, with plenty of variety, fresh fruit, and excellent live cooking stations. Despite the hotel being busy, there was ample seating and no huge queues.
The location is unbeatable—so central to the shops, main attractions, and a great choice of restaurants. It’s the main reason I would definitely stay here again.
Top tip: If you’re doing any walking tours, make sure to stop by the Corso Bar on the ground floor afterwards for a Limoncello Spritz!

Excellent hotel. Excellent location.

This hotel has the most spectacular views of the Buda palace and the Danube. The location is incredible and you can walk easily through the main shopping streets of Pest and easily over the Chain bridge to Buda. The buffet breakfast is also excellent.
