Could do with a bit of work but otherwise fine!
This place is perfect for stag dos but with a bit of investment would be excellent for friends and families too.
The location is excellent, near to tourist hot spots and places for food and drink.
Needs better bedding for the bedrooms, single duvets for a double bed and one pillow just isn't sufficient and a bit of work in the bathroom including new towels would make this place a great stay.

In the heart of the city
My wife and I stayed at the Emerald Ensuite accommodation on Karoly Korut from 5-9 September 2016. We arranged transport from/to the airport with the proprietors of this establishment as well. We were met at the airport when our flight arrived (just after midnight) by a very pleasant chap who spoke very good English. He delivered us to the front door of the accommodation premises and escorted us inside, explaining the different, albeit basic, features of the property.
The room itself was located within a tenement type/city building, positioned on the first floor, to the rear and anyway from any potential noise from traffic. We opted for a self-contained apartment with private shower and kitchen facilities. The room was of a bedsit style with the double bed in the same room as the kitchen cupboards, microwave, sink, and table and chairs. The bathroom was accessed via the private hallway to the left of the entrance door.
The shower was superb, great water flow and hot water. Only downside here was that the towels supplied were hand towels- just as well we had brought our own, otherwise we'd have been in trouble vis-a-vis drying after showering. (we stayed at an Airb'nb accommodation in Budapest last year and the shower amounted to a tickle, and put a bit of a dampener- no pun intended- on an otherwise brilliant stay in September 2015).
The room was functional and perfectly suitable to our needs. It was cheap in price and good value for money, as it was only a base to sleep, shower, and get changed- and with the added facility to make a cup of coffee when required.
The apartment, as stated earlier, is on Karoly Korut, which is a major thoroughfare in District V. It is close to Vaci Street, and a short walk from St Stephen's bacilica. The synagogue is virtually on the apartment's doorstep, and the hop on/hop off buses are accessible nearby. There are countless restaurants and bars in all directions from the apartment, and a Spar supermarket two minutes walk away- coffee, milk, bread, biscuits, and beer/wine should you require it.
We were fortunate that our short time in Budapest coincided with the Wine festival week and we were able to avail of and enjoy great deals at restaurants showcasing the country's food and wine. Excellent.
In conclusion, our stay at Emerald Ensuite met our expectations. We were not expecting The Ritz, rather we only required a base to return to each evening. This apartment perfectly met our requirements, and at a reasonable price, we were not disappointed. I would also add that communication with the proprietors was good via email, and we found them to be friendly and helpful, which also added to our enjoyment of our stay in Budapest.

Non fidatevi!
Avevo prenotato questo appartamento due mesi prima della partenza, attratta soprattutto dal prezzo (72 euro per due notti e due persone). Pochi giorni prima di partire, ricevo una notifica che dice che la mia carta non è valida e allora nei giorni successivi ne ho fornite alla struttura ben tre, che uso regolarmente, tutte e tre classificate come non valide! La ragione fu chiara poco dopo: il giorno prima di partire mi proposero un'altra struttura, molto più lontana rispetto al centro città,che non necessitava di carta di credito per essere prenotata; chiaramente avevano già affittato il mio appartamento a qualcun'altro ad un prezzo maggiore! Per giorni, non hanno risposto alle mie mail e, fatta notare la loro mancanza di professionalità e la loro maleducazione dopo l'accaduto, mi hanno consigliato di ANDARE IN UN'ALTRA STRUTTURA, più conforme alle mie esigenze.
Un trattamento inaccettabile per un cliente, per di più il giorno prima della partenza!!
Per fortuna siamo riuscite a trovare un'altra struttura, NON HO SOGGIORNATO QUI E VI CONSIGLIO DI NON FARLO MAI!

Nunca Mas
Buenas, lo único positivo que voy a escribir de este sitio es su ubicación, a partir de este momento todo negativo.
Muy sucio, viejo, habían cajones en cocina rotos, utensilios sucios, las habitaciones muy malas, nosotros dormimos en una especie de salón pequeño sin armarios, una luz muy tenue que casi no se veía, el baño sucio y las duchas mejor no hablar.
Yo entraba siempre con chanclas.
Sinceramente uno de los peores sitios que he estado en mi vida.
Yo no lo recomiendo y espero que el dueño se ponga las pilas para mejorarlo.
Las fotos que pone son opuestas a la realidad que te encuentras.

Muy mala experiencia
Días previos a nuestra llegada estuvimos en contacto con personal del hotel por e-mail para concretarla, ya que llegaríamos algo tarde por la noche, en principio nos dijeron que sin problemas. Llegamos a la puerta del apartamento donde nos estaba esperando un chico joven, que dijo ser trabajador del apartamento y nos dijo que nos acompañaría a nuestro apartamento, que por no disponer en la calle indicada (Karoly koerut) de disponibilidad nos iban a alojar en otro en una calle cercana. Hasta aquí todo bien, ciertamente el apartamento estaba situado cerca de la sinagoga en zona de pubs y restaurantes. El apartamento era grande aunque un poco sucio (tanto la cocina como el baño, que tenia el suelo lleno de pelos, y no encontramos ni una escoba en toda la casa). Además al cobrarnos el importe acordado nos incluyó unas tasas que no entendimos bien el motivo. Nos pusimos en contacto con el mismo e-mail para quejarnos de la limpieza y que por favor nos prestaran una escoba para limpiarlo nosotros, así como un secador de pelo que en la pagina web indicaba que habia, y para pedir explicaciones sobre esa subida de precio. Nos respondieron al dia siguiente, que ya nos contestarían... A los dos días no teníamos respuesta, por lo que volvimos a escribirles sin respuesta. A partir de ese día el wifi dejó de funcionar, volvimos a ponernos en contacto mediante una red publica y les mostramos nuestro descontento con la atención prestada. Cual fue nuestra sorpresa cuando en el mail nos dijeron que nosotros nunca habíamos hecho el check in en sus instalaciones, jurando y perjurando que estábamos alojados en un apartamento que no era de la empresa emerald. Intentamos hablar con ellos ya que habíamos sufrido un timo claramente, y ellos insistían que no sabían quien nos había llevado a ese apartamento, pero que ellos no tenían nada que ver y se lavaban las manos. Que para ellos no constaba que nosotros nunca habíamos estado allí. De hecho, 3 días después de nuestro regreso a España nos cancelaron ellos mismos la reserva. Por suerte volvimos bien, esos días no hubo ningún incidente y solo ha quedado como anécdota.
