Locanda
Zakynthos is home to Locanda. While the natural beauty of Laganas Beach and Tsilivi Beach can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Alykanas Beach. National Marine Park of Zakynthos and FZ Go Kart are also worth visiting. Along with an outdoor pool, this hotel has a restaurant and free self parking. WiFi in public areas is free. Great hotel. Super location. Quick transfer. Awesome staff!
Well, what can I say? What a super little hotel!
We arrived at around 10pm local time, and the young lady who greeted us quickly got us sorted with our room key . She even turned the air conditioning on for us (it’s chargeable at €7 per day, but in August it’s well worth it!). She showed us to our room, where we found a well-presented, small family room.
In the corner were three plates of food, along with a small bowl of fresh salad. This was such a lovely touch and completely unexpected, especially as we were expecting to have to find somewhere to eat at one of the shops or restaurants nearby.
Food
Breakfast was the same each day, but there was plenty to choose from: around 4–5 different cereals, toast, eggs prepared two ways, honey, chocolate spread, fruit, beans, sausages, bacon, mushrooms and more.
Lunch and dinner were different every day. There wasn’t a huge amount of choice, but sometimes at all-inclusive hotels there is almost too much to choose from. Here, there was something for everyone, and the food was always fresh, clean and well presented.
There are self-service drinks available in the restaurant, and the staff in there are brilliant. Always smiling and friendly — they’re like worker ants, constantly busy and keeping everything running smoothly!
The view from the restaurant out towards the sea is fantastic too.
The Bar
The outdoor bar has a good selection of all-inclusive drinks, and you can also ask for something specific.
The barman convinced me to try Ouzo with their lemonade. I had tried Ouzo in cocktails before and really didn’t enjoy it, but I trusted his recommendation and gave it a go. He promised I’d like it… and, to be fair, he was right!
♂️ The Pools
The pools are great — never too busy, clean and really well maintained.
The caretaker deserves a special mention too. He’s constantly pottering around, making sure everything is kept in good condition, trimming the bushes and generally making sure everything is looking its best. You can tell he takes pride in the place.
The Staff
The whole team of staff are amazing. Most of them are young, and their attitude and work ethic really stood out to us. They are friendly, positive and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do.
Marious (if I haven’t completely butchered his name! ), along with his brother and cousin, were particularly chatty and friendly. His cousin was mainly working in the bar throughout our stay and really brought the entertainment and energy — singing, dancing, clapping and generally keeping everyone entertained.
It’s these little things that really make a holiday memorable.
Would We Go Back?
Absolutely!
I would definitely return to this hotel. If I had one criticism, it would probably be the weather — 40-odd degrees was just a little too much for me! So next time, I’d probably visit at a slightly cooler time of year.
Overall, a fantastic little hotel with brilliant staff, good food, great pools and a lovely atmosphere.

Loved it!
We have just returned from 5 fabulous days at Locanda. All good, lovely room, nice food, great drinks and easy access into the sea from a nice little beach. Only one Greek dancing night but lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues on the strip nearby. Definitely recommend it! Dont take any notice of the bad reviews. We are planning to go back next year xx

Prisoner Of War Camp
To make matters worse, charging extra for air conditioning and adding a tourist tax on top felt like nothing more than a money grab. Overall, the whole experience was disappointing and definitely not value for money.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place and spending your money elsewhere.
