Clean, spacious, newly renovated room. We appreciated the large balcony with good views of the city and mountains. Free minibar with soft drinks restocked daily. Breakfast room was nicely decorated with plenty of seating options and the breakfast selection was good. Pool area on the roof was a little rundown, but still very enjoyable.

On our last night we had to move rooms as the AC in our room was not working. This happened after the AC control unit our room was changed. This was an inconvenience, but we did not mind, except that when we informed the front desk that the AC was not working, the staff dismissed it saying that it was not possible as the hotel AC’s centralized. We had to insist that there was an issue and the guy said he would come check after 30mins. In the end, we had to move rooms in the middle of the night. No other assistance was offered.
Our biggest complaint was when we were again dismissed, we believe by the same staff, Ergin, when we requested for a late check-out the following day. He said it’s not possible. We raised the point that we had to move rooms the night before (which process of packing up and moving took time away from us just resting and enjoying the room). So we just left it at that. But when we got to our room, we called the front desk and a different staff member took our call, Memet. We asked him for a late check-out, and upon a quick check, he was able to grant our request. This was a stark contrast to Ergin’s handling of and response to our request, and, obviously, it was really possible but that Ergin was just dismissive again. So this just really irritated us and made those 2 days in the hotel quite annoying.

Not going up

Good location, pleasant rooms. The hotel is tidy, but shows its age in halls, by the pool and in common areas.
Nice breakfast selection,
However, we had a room on the seventh floor, and the hotel has three elevators going up there. On our second day, two of those elevators had technical issues and the third one is closed off in the evenings - apparently because of noise.
The service concerning the issue was kinda lousy with staff pointing us in different directions and shrugging their shoulders.
Eventually we were told we had to use the stairs. We have no mobility issues, but if you do - i’m sure there are hotels in Nice with more reliable lifts.

Extortionate

What an absolute rip off. They seem to enjoy it too. Rooms are tiny, air conditioning is sporadic, paid two euro for a coffee to be cheerfully told there wasn’t any milk. I was told parking would be 15 euros only for them to backpedal the next day and say that only applied if I got the ticket from the reception on the way into the parking which is logistically virtually impossible. A real “not my problem” attitude.

This Marriott is an old Accor brand so set your expectations low it’s very tired. Bed was very comfy and the aircon worked well. If you are looking for a bed for the night in central Nice then it’s OK, but that is where the positives about this places ends.
