J’adore Hotel Amour!

This has rapidly become our favourite hotel. From the welcoming friendly check-in, relaxed and attentive service through to unique rooms with excellent food the Hotel Amour is a perfect haven in Nice.
The rooms are all vibrantly decorated with flair and fun decor. It is streets ahead of generic chain hotels, with a pink and blue motif carried throughout the design. The hotel playlists are very cool, eclectic and the perfect way to discover new artists.
We have stayed there twice now, and it’s our go to choice whenever we are in Nice.

Pay close attention to your business! Stolen watch in the bedroom

Not happy at all. For a room more than 250€ in the middle of winter, one might expect a little more security. My Apple Watch was stolen from my bedroom, from my bag. This had not happened to me in all my previous trips even in less reputable regions (South America, Asia etc.). That's unacceptable. Hotel to escape

THE STAFF MAKE AMOUR GREAT

Writing this review is very hard for me. Because I liked the hotel so much, but it is not perfect. Hotel Amour is not Best Western, Novotel, or Marriott. If you hate those three, you may actually be in heaven. If you love those three, you may feel heartbroken at your choice. The rooms are "tight", but so are all the rooms in Nice unless you move into an entirely different price range.
Let's get this out of the way first: no TV, no kettle, no minibar/refrigerator, no hairdryer, no real closet. You had better get a room on floor 4 or above, because Hotel Amour has a very "vibrant nightlife" as far as I can tell (extremely popular when we were there for Friday and Saturday night) that didn't get moving until 22:00 hrs. Standing room only in the bar/garden lounge at 01:00, if you can believe such a thing. Strong herbaceous smells.
High quality bedding (sheets/pillow/mattress), high quality shower, room was nicely quiet despite multiple rooms on the floor, strong WiFi. Associated with decent restaurant for breakfast, and (as mentioned) fun bar with all the traditional/non-traditional and high quality beverage choices. Food quality & portion size for breakfast & lunch was excellent. Dinner is excellent as well if you like what appears to be Greek or Greek inspired menu. Plenty of options in the neighborhood if you wish. I think the hotel is two long blocks from the water which is nice. Neighborhood is nice.
The best part of Hotel Amour? The staff. All the staff. How this has come to be, I don't know, but everybody was a competent professional and welcoming. Housekeeping to senior management. Restaurant/Bar team as well.
To be honest, what probably saved Hotel Amour for me was the general pleasant, cooperative, professional, responsive, functional nature of the team which is not a guaranteed situation in France.

I don't want to go home

Fresh linen, pretty views, subtle and surprising details, silent AND festive, sunset, old-fashioned and modern, crazy cocktails, not squeamish guests, surprises, lightness, literature, colors, half romantic half scoundrel, like at home, in better.

Bad-mannered and childish director!

To flee despite the charming staff, the manager is imbued with himself and very unpleasant, this does not compensate the charm of the place.
Consuming a drink in the Pension Lounge with a friend, I ask the next table to turn down the volume of their mobile speaker or use headphones.
I was told that it was the director, who immediately got up turned the music on and told us that we would hear better! Then seeing that we liked the music, he turned it off!!!
