A lovely, friendly hotel sandwiched between the Ferry Port and the Cathedral in Santander
I arrived at the hotel by taxi with no belongings other than a backpack with my laptop. The hotel is about 200m from the Brittany Ferries check-in terminal for foot passengers, which I had just become, next door to an impressive cathedral, and in the shopping district so I was able to quickly buy a flight bag and changes of clothes.
The rooms are lovely and spacious, the staff friendly and multilingual, and the bars and restaurants welcoming and good value. I particularly appreciated the friendliness of the staff, as I had a badly cut hand and broken collar bone (on different sides) so I needed help each morning to re-bandage my hand and put on my watch, jacket, etc. A particular shout-out to Maria on the reception desk and Robbi on the room service team for their invaluable help.
I was pleased to finally board the Brittany Ferries ship and head home, but I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are going to Santander. Be sure to book directly with the hotel's website for the best price (in my case, €404 for three nights without breakfast).

Garage in the property ( extra cost )
Now, the arrival process is tricky and confusing; the signage in the nearby is confusing and ill-placed. Even the desk employees recognize that as a huge challenge. Along with that, the construction in the perimeter makes it convoluted too. This is the only "staind" about the whole thing, but again, aside from this, I would stay there again, hands down. Btw, Santander is amazing !

We are not returning to the Hotel Bahía de Santander
What bothered us was that after spending €500 at the hotel for two nights (in Santander), they denied us a place to change our clothes before starting our trip. What large hotel doesn't have a changing room nowadays so that its guests can change or even shower, especially in a city with a beach.
Furthermore, when we went to pick up our suitcases from the luggage storage, they gave us a dirty look. In addition, you can only access the services / bathrooms in the hotel lobby with an active room key so that no one (including guests who have checked out) can access the service. Where have you seen that in a large four-star hotel?!
Let them keep it up and then they complain that the clientele is going to tourist apartments!!!
