Swedish Delight!
We have discovered a perfect gem in Nerja: the Hostal Alegre. Run by two delightful and dedicated Swedes, this lovely spot offers wonderful hospitality, beautiful rooms, and the finest fusion foods on the planet. Don't hesitate to book at the Alegre. You'll never want to leave!

Small and beautiful, warm welcome and lovely people
Fresh and wonderfully clean. Cecelia and Jarno are so accommodating and friendly nothings too much trouble. Great breakfast selection, something for everyone. Nice bar and terrace for evening drinks. It's not quiet due to the busy road outside but this doesn't detract from the warn and friendly atmosphere inside

3 night stopover in Nerja
We spent 10 days travelling from Madrid to Seville and hired a car to travel from Seville to Nerja for our last 3 nights. We booked this hotel because it was one of the few hotels which offered parking and a pool. It may have been more basic than the hotels we stopped at in Madrid and Seville but for a 2 star hotel it has 5 star appeal and our bedroom was better equipped the previous hotels we had stopped in . There was 3 of us sharing a room and we were given the Hibiscus room which had a kettle for teas /coffees, a fridge with mini bar ( prices were the same as the bar downstairs and that was not expensive), hairdryer in the bathroom and a safety deposit box in the wardrobe. The 3rd bed which was a sofa bed was in a separate annex so it was like having 2 bedrooms. We were greeted on arrival by who Cecilia & Jarno who are are Swedish and made us feel extremely welcome. They gave us lots of good advice on places to eat and drink and the best beaches to go to. Breakfasts were excellent , as well as cereals, fruit juices continental , yogurts , fruit , crepes there was full English on offer with proper Irish sausages and baked beans .Cecilia even made us fresh Scones and Muffins. . All of the beaches and the centre was within walking distance of the hotel.The hotel is attached to a residential complex so there is a swimming pool which guests of the hotel can use . We went to the pool (there are actually 3 pools in the complex but we only tried 1) and there was no one there so we had the pool to ourselves. If i had to make a criticism about the pool area it would be there was no lounges or chairs but there was a sun terrace or grassy areas to lie down and it was so peaceful. i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would definitely come back.

Just perfect
Lovely new place in Nerja. It wasn't my first stay on the coast and this place is really outstanding from cleanses, location, nice and simple decoration to absolutely warm and attentionned welcome by the Swedish couple. Excellent choice in breakfast menu and small terrasse to chill and have a drink at the evenings. Walking distance from the heart of town and the beach.

Genuint och mysigt ställe
Hostal Alegre rekommenderas varmt både för övernattning eller bara ett besök i baren eller matsalen. Här får man alltid ett hjärtligt mottagande i en trevlig miljö, maten är vällagad och mycket god. Frukosten...ja, den måste bara upplevas
