If you can’t stay here - make sure you eat here.

Stayed for one night while walking the Camino. The albergue is located in a small village and has an authentic rustic look that is in keeping. The rooms are fairly basic, without air conditioning and with a shower over bath (the bath being barely big enough to sit in with one’s knees tucked up to one’s chest).
There was a comfortable sitting area on the first floor.
The high point was the evening meal, which was absolutely fabulous. The salad to start with walnuts was topped off with a warm slice of goat’s cheese drizzled in honey. The cod pie for main course was similarly delicious and the staff were really friendly.
If you have booked to stay elsewhere in the village I recommend you visit here for dinner.

The baked maragato wrong. Hard meat, unflavored ham, few chickpeas and vegetables and soup without flavor and with lots of oil. They took a long time to bring the food and there were only two tables.

A pretty good austere hotel that goes well with the country

The exterior of the hotel is beautiful, with its stone walls of the area, it is really a typical building. On the other hand, the rooms are very clean but very austere, a bit like monk cells. The furniture is minimalist and in this month of June it is quite cold. The staff is welcoming, breakfast is average, at least in my room+dinner+breakfast package. The restaurant is good. The hotel is ideally located on the way to Compostela.

Dirty

Very dirty place and bad food. Once staff was told about it they were very rude with us. Not recommended for pilgrims.
Besides the floor is noisy and it’s not possible to rest properly.
There are better places in Rabanal to stay.

Historical building and exceptional hospitality!

This place should be rated as a 5 star! Cleanliness, service and friendliness is over the top. Not to mention cool, coming in the summer months where Summer temperatures are extremely high this place is comfortable, Beautiful and historical. Despite its modern rooms the building is about 300 years old making it a magical place. Thank you Crisitina and staff!
