Excellent Stay, thanks everyone x

Just come back from 4 nights here, we had a brilliant stay, from arriving to leaving the staff were lovely, Had 2 evening meals which were superb, the breakfasts could keep you going all day, We had a room with the pool, great addition as it was hot whilst we were there, room was spotless, very quiet, close to Blue route bus,
Thanks to everyone for making our stay so easy.

Great Location & Comfortable

We stayed one night in room 416 at Catalonia Eixample. We took the train from the airport and then it was a short walk to the hotel. The location was great for what we needed.
The check in was easy, and Maria was extremely helpful.
It was quiet inside the room with a comfortable bed. Everything was in working order.
We spent some time on the nice roof deck where we had a drink and enjoyed the view.

Great room. Private pool on terrace was great. Restaurant bar could be open a little later or more options available in the mini bar.

Stayed mid July 2026, was initially concerned regarding previous reviews saying rooms are small, that are not, they are on par or better than most inner city rooms we have experienced, there was no balcony in our room as it faced into an inner inaccessible courtyard, as did most rooms, but the room was spacious enough, good en-suite, comfy large bed, iron, ironing board, tv, safe, coffee machine, for a few nights what more could you ask for ? other comments regarding the size of the rooftop pool, we loved it, shallow and small yes, but like being in a great big bath with a great view, there was a bar on the roof and also ground floor but with so much around why bother, hotel ideally placed for sightseeing, close enough to walk to all gaudi sights, la Sagrada Família, harbour, if your pretty fit, if not, a short taxi ride, there are plenty of taxis, Food was good, the choices were many, wife is a lactose intolerant coeliac and there were choices for her but the staff didn’t really understand that she requests hot food made fresh, to avoid contamination, you pick a sausage up containing gluten, then leave it in the bacon tray, which she then uses, she’s ill for a week, we chose to rise pretty early to make sure the food offered was not cross contaminated by inconsiderate / uneducated guests. Good cold choices, cheese, meat, salads, yogurts, The cooked choice was mainly meat or eggs, done several ways for each I admit, for me, a veggie, I had eggs, eggs, and eggs, and filled up on bread. To invite an Englishman, especially a Yorkshireman, for breakfast, and not have hash browns, baked beans and HP sauce is unforgivable.
Would I recommend ? Yes, I would, wholeheartedly,

The stay really lost points on the staff, two in particular. Very cold and unwelcoming. We arrived early at the hotel from our cruise and politely asked if an early check in might be possible noting we had checked in online already. It was met with check in is from 3pm. No “I am sorry we would love to try and help, but”. We decided to leave our bags to explore, but really we were desperate to get some pool time in our room. We returned around 2.30pm (4hours later) and checked again to see if room might be ready early, given check outs were by 12pm, again same staff said no the room will likely be ready after 3pm and if we wanted to wait they would come and get us. They didn’t come and get us we had to re approach the desk. The two had now clocked off. A different lady this time who was lovely, got us checked in. Deluxe pool room is quite a tight space to get two people with four bags into, but the terrace, view and small plunge pool was great. Terrace with main pool also seemed pretty good. Breakfast has a good selection and location is brilliant for exploring. Again, same staff also refused a later check out request the following day so we still had to check out at 12pm. 3hrs to turn around a tiny room seems crazy. Also again no “did you enjoy your stay” or hope you will return. Just very dismissive like we were an annoyance. Stay here, but don’t expect a smiling helpful service from at least two of the front desk staff.
