Wonderful People
Location is quite convenient. 10-15 minutes ride from the City Stars Mall and around 20 minutes ride from the airport. Local streets have lots of small cafes, shops, shawerma stations and juice places.
The hotel itself is more of a hostel style. I booked a single room with a private bathroom. I arrived in the morning, so the staff offered me to take a rest in any available room (this one had no toilet and no AC, just an electrical fan). I appreciated the gesture. However, the room I booked wasn't available even later, as other guests asked to extend their stay. The manager kept apologizing and asked me to stay in another room with AC but with no bathroom just for one night. I had no choice. The room was very clean and lovely with a balcony, just I as a solo female traveler, I could not put up with sharing a bathroom with other male guests. Luckily in the evening the other guests left and I was moved to a single room with a private bathroom.
I cannot say I enjoyed the room - the smell was a mixture of cigarettes, insect spray and sewage from the bathroom. Plus I got bitten by mosquitoes and ants. I did not complain however, as I was in the office all day and went out with friends in the evening. But when I mentioned the insect issue at checkout, staff were very apologetic and said if I told them before, they would come and spray the room.
There is some kind of cafe on the ground floor. They serve drinks and can also order meals from outside. Very reasonable prices, but I was leaving early in the morning and it was not open yet.
The other guests at the hotel were mostly young Egyptians from other provinces coming to Cairo on budget, but I also met a few foreign backpackers.
The place does not deserve 4 stars of course, but the people working there make it up for the product deficiencies. They do not speak much English, but extremely attentive, caring and kind. They welcome every guest as to their own house. They even gave me a complimentary bottle of water upon departure.
All in all, it can be an option for a backpacking holiday or an emergency unplanned stay in Cairo.

تم تسجيل (عدم الحضور) بعد أن قدمت وأبلغوني بـ(عدم توفر الحجز الخاص بي)
ونص رسالة الترحيب من قبل الفندق:
(Dear Mohammad, your room is ready for check-in. We're looking forward to welcoming you!)
وبعد أن تم الحضور في الوقت المتوقع، حاملاً أمتعتي والتي تم إنزالها من التاكسي للفندق المعني "colour holidays"
تم إبلاغي عن طريق الريسبشن بأن الغرفة المحجوزة (غير متاحة) !
آمنا بالله.. وبحثنا عن مكان إقامة آخر بعد ضياع الوقت !
ولكن المشكلة لم تقف إلى هذا الحد.. (من الوقاحة)
فقد وصلتني رسالة عن طريق برنامج الحجوزات Booking عبر الإيميل بأن الفدق المعني أرسل تقرير بـ(عدم تسجيل الحضور في الوقت المحدد)
نص الرسالة: (مرحبًا Mohammad،
كيف حالك؟ أبلغنا colour holidays (رقم الحجز 1485148221) بأنك لم تقم بتسجيل الوصول في 2018-08-08).
لربما قد أكون متأخراً في الطرح بسبب الظروف، ولكنها رسالة ينبغي إيصالها
