Last minute find near Faaborg

We left Copenhagen, headed toward Aero Island, needed a place to stay for a night in between. Found Lundsgaard online, during the drive (love in-car internet hotspots) and we are so happy we did. Comfortable, very reasonably priced room for 4, with most friendly innkeeper. We left before breakfast, so no advice there. We all (the 4 of us) slept very well and highly recommend this place.

Beware the shared bathroom experience!

OK enough place, but ....
My wife and I normally have a strict "no shared bathrooms" policy when we travel.
We relaxed it on this occasion because we booked late and couldn't find anything else - we hoped there would be not many sharing and it would be easily accessible.
No luck on either count.
There were four rooms sharing one bathroom - and it was on another floor! Thank God for the creaky staircase which told you when someone was entering or leaving the bathroom - even in the middle of the night.
And the shower and toilet were in the same room, so if any one of the people in those four rooms was having a shower, the toilet was unusable.
Credit where it's due - great shower with nice hot water and very good pressure.
Unimaginative breakfast.
Not sure I'd even call this a B&B. It's more of a reception centre with rooms to rent.
All things considered, I think this should have been less expensive.

Very nice, but the shower

A very nice facility. It’s really a conference center with a B&B. We had a nice room with bed and bathroom. The bed was good, the only minus was the bathroom. Instead of class, the sites where a curtain that you had to fight during each shower. Also the water was minimal and the floor at the drain was very steep and slippery. All together not a nice shower experience. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Definitely not it

B&B, hotel, or conference centre? With 60 beds, it is clearly not a cosy, quiet bed and breakfast, which one might expect in a sleepy village. As a hotel/conference centre it is expensive for what you get, which is essentially a place to sleep. On top of the price of the rooms the cost of a simple continental breakfast, almost 10 euros, adds close to 40 euros for a family of four.
The buildings are a converted farm, but the result isn’t impressive. The rooms are furnished with the basics, without much attention to the famous Danish “hygge”. Outside, some might find the accumulation of “antiques” quaint, to us it looked more like a junkyard. And the garden/playground is a mess of dead and uprooted trees and broken equipment.
We have previously stayed nearby, at Solbjerggaard in Millinge, which is a real B&B and much less likely to disappoint.

Cosy B&B in beautiful surroundings

If you are looking for a cosy and relaxing place to stay on southern Funen (Fyn), Lundsgaard is well worth a visit. It is a former farm with rooms and holiday flats, and breakfast can be purchased separately.
My better half and I rented a holiday flat with a small kitchenette and own bathroom for a night and were very happy with our choice. It was comfortable and quiet, and the view of the yard and surrounding greenery is fantastic. The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome straight away. Be early for breakfast, though, as you may miss the tasty homemade rolls otherwise! They ran out about halfway through the breakfast hour on the day we stayed there, which is the only reason why I give Lundsgaard four stars and not five.
While you are here, make sure to visit the round church of Horne Kirke just across the road (entrance is free). The nearby town of Faaborg is also great with lots of activities throughout the summer and nice cafes and restaurants. Don't forget your swimwear if the weather is good.
Tip: Book directly and not through a booking site to get the best price!
