We stayed four nights in a good room and the staff was very good. Gives to come back.

Good hotel in the Palafitos de Gamboa area. An old house transformed into a hotel. We got a nice bedroom with a nice ocean view. Nice beds.
Breakfast in a not very large but well served dining room.

DON'T STAY IN THIS PLACE

Together with my partner we stayed at this place on Wednesday the 28th. We arrived around 17:00 hrs. We had reservation for a room with two single beds (not double, as at the time of booking there was no other option). However, the reception woman offered to exchange it for a room with a double bed on the first floor, opposite reception, as our original room was on the second floor. As neither of us had a canal view and to avoid putting our bags up, we accepted the change.
On our way out that same afternoon, we heard the receptionist talking on the phone, complaining about a leak of water in a room. We never imagined that she meant just the room she had offered us, and that it was “magically” unoccupied that day.
Overnight, the bathroom completely flooded. The water literally fell from the bathroom sky, through the central luminaire, which is very serious because of the electrical hazard. We slept abysmally, as the room had an unbearable damp smell; everything was imbued with that smell. In fact, there was a humidifier on the candle, obviously to hide the situation. Turning it off around 23:00 hrs to sleep, the smell became unbreathable.
I woke up twice during the night to cologne the sheets so I could breathe. We didn't open the windows because they were sealed. Added to that, the water kept falling through the roof, so we could not bathe.
As a result of this situation, I lost a hair straightener, which was in the bathroom and never turned on again, plus a case I decided to throw away, as I never knew the origin of the water falling from the ceiling.
For all this, I paid $81,000 for one night. We received no explanation, no money back, and the only answer was that a lady toilet — the same one who serves breakfast — ran a rag, spreading the water around the room.
I have filed a complaint with SERNAC. The recommendation is NOT TO STAY IN THIS PLACE
Afterwards, I stayed 3 days at Hotel Bauda, where the experience was completely different: a beautiful place, with an amazing view and excellent care. In the mornings, while the cafeteria is not open to the public (until 10:00), you can have breakfast in absolute tranquility. The terrace overlooks the palafitos of Montt, everything is very photographable and well kept. All this for $65,000 a night, with signature cafeteria-level breakfast.

A wonderful stay at the Palafito Hostel

Staying at the Palafito hostel was an excellent introduction to the Chiloe Islands. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with fresh bread every morning of our stay. The staff were friendly and willing to accommodate the changes in our schedule. We had a car and parking was located on the street, very convenient to the hostel.
The hostel is on the Gamboa River and we had a great time watching the birds. Restaurants are nearby along with a number of mercados.

Vacation Castro

The stay was spectacular, an amazing view from the balcony, the bed was very comfortable. The staff at the hostel were friendly and friendly. The breakfast was very good and with plenty of local flavor.
I would definitely rest there again.

Nice and comfortable

Excellent place to stay during the holidays, very comfortable with good location and a wonderful view, generates a homely and trusted atmosphere, spectacular breakfast , healthy and homemade.
They served us pretty well
