Perfect in what it wants to be

I had ups and downs with hotels in South America, but this is most definitely an up. It is somewhat well located, a few blocks from the square and church (well, is not like Calama has A LOT of tourist attractions...). It is clean, kind of beautiful on the inside, the staff is very friendly and helpful and everything works perfectly fine. One small thing: no elevators, so make sure you talk about it when making reservations if stairs are a problem for you.

Standard Chain hotel, but with excellent reception staff

Room is quite small, just enough space for double bed. Little hanging space. Big wall-mounted TV with cable channels.. Located in a scruffy part of town, but with a couple of cheap restaurants close by.
Breakfast is provided and there is free wi-fi.
OK for a night but no longer.
I had a problem and the reception staff were fantastically helpful.

Simple and clean hotel

A clean hotel, nothing fancy, but everything is OK. It's aimed more at business (mine workers) than at leisure. Just fine for one night as a stop between the airport and San Pedro. It's a fifteen minute walk to the center of the town.

Small room, average location but good wifi

Whenever something is booked with "Express" in its name I guess you know what is coming - smallish rooms budget accom etc.
Ayelen Express has it all. I actually thought we were in the sister property Ayelen Apartments but that's a debate with the travel agent for later....Location is downtown so everything has to be locked up tight! The hotel has good security though so no issues within the property.
I always like an outdoor sitting area for a drink and relax but nothing of the sort here.
Staff were very good, most helpful and friendly. Wifi also good.
I just missed having a smoke and beer in the sun to be honest so it isn't Ayelen Express's fault, I blame the travel agent...

Pasable

Estuve por 4 noches, hab 207. Sin ventilación! La ventana no abre... No me supieron hacer andar la caja fuerte... La ventana da a un paredón , muy poca iluminación natural. Bien la limpieza y los espacios comunes... La atención de lo mejor! La comida bien!
