Located in downtown Halifax, 2 blocks from the waterfront, this restored boutique hotel occupies 3 historic townhouses. It offers a library and garden courtyard. Pier 21 is a 10-minute walk away.

Historic building with beautiful furniture.
This B and B is located downtown Halifax . Our room was very large. clean and well equipped. The building is historic and interesting . The only negative factor was there is no parking close by which makes hauling luggage for seniors somewhat challenging . All staff was very friendly and helpful . We would return .

Our apologies for the parking, our onsite lot has very limited spots and works on a first come first serve basis. Once our main lot is full we have additional parking located around the corner from the hotel. Please never hesitate to reach out to our front desk, we are staffed 24/7 and are happy with assisting with luggage! We hope to welcome you back again in the future! Cozy, comfortable but a little bit noisy
We spent three nights here. Overall - a very good experience. The room was spacious and nice. The bed was comfortable. The entire place is quaint.
A few extra positives - they offer an optional cold breakfast for $15/person. It's a ton of food (more than we could eat) so you can plan to take some of it with you for a snack during the day.
The garden is nice, but populated by frequently-pooping pigeons, so make sure to sit under an umbrella.
All the staff we deal with were very pleasant friendly and helpful.
Negatives:
- We had a room facing the street. Which meant at 6:30 or 7:00 in the morning, big noisy trucks were rumbling past the window of our room - I imagine a garden-view room would be quieter. Also, the hotel itself is an old townhouse, so you can hear people tromping around upstairs. It's not horrible, but it is noticeable.
Overall, a good experience, and I'd recommend it. I'd just try to ensure I didn't face the street next time.

Central Heating and Cooling
We stayed in the main building for 3 nights. The location was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has central heating and cooling, so there is no opportunity to adjust the temperature in the room. The room was like fridge! If it were hot and sunny perfect, but the weather was unsettled with rain. The cool air flowed non-stop in the room and bathroom. The hotel must be aware because they offer portable heaters. The tiny heater warmed the room, but was a bit loud. During the night for safety we did not use the heater and closed the bathroom door. But in the early morning the bathroom was so cold. We had just returned from stays at 2 properties built in 1845 and 1879 and both had in room temperature controls. The room itself was nicely decorated, but the wing back chair seat cushion was in desperate need of new foam, it was completely flat from usage. Room 107 has no view, which was okay, but the pigeons on the window ledge cooing was not great. The hotel requests a $200 deposit, that can be used as a credit towards purchases, the deposit was pending on my credit card for 9 days after returning home. Unfortunately, the cold room overshadowed the uniqueness of this hotel

While we’re happy to hear that you enjoyed our location and that our team was helpful during your stay, we’re very sorry that the temperature of your room affected the comfort of your time with us. While our 1st and 3rd townhome are central air, we offer fans/heaters as well as covers to for vents to help adjust the temperatures of rooms individually but our 2nd townhome has its own AC/heating controls for each room. We are always happy to take requests for rooms with individual heating, please send us an email or give us a call for any future bookings and we can arrange this for you! The $200 hold is released on our end after check out time on the day of your departure, sometimes this can take up to 10 business days until it reflects on your account but if you contact your bank they can often release the hold immediately for you! We appreciate your comments; feedback helps us identify areas requiring attention and we apologize that these issues overshadowed the historic charm and uniqueness of the hotel. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future!

We were able to park our vehicle safely at the hotel, even though we were several hours ahead of check-in. This was wonderful! It gave us the freedom to get a head-start on our visit of Halifax, and check in later.
It was a climb up two stories to our room. We were offered help with our luggage which we declined. The climb was worth it! Our room was adorable and bigger than expected. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Fantastic staff made us feel so welcome. Bed was super comfy. The property was very clean. Breakfast was great. Free car parking at rear of the hotel. Location is superb
