Quirky hotel in a good location

I stayed at the Moxy Downtown Halifax for one night, mid-week, in early June. I booked direct and got the “Cars stay free” deal. The room rate included parking and a $50 CAD Esso gas card. Parking is in an underground garage with an elevator to the hotel. Tight, but no issues with my mid-sized SUV. Check-in was easy. I really enjoyed the décor and found myself smiling a few times at something on one of the walls. I did not eat here but did have a drink in the bar. There was a large high school graduation party there so there were more “kids” around than adults.
I was in room 606 and it had two twin beds. The room set up is unique and I liked almost all of it. The one issue is that the very large TV is sideways to the way the beds face. To watch it you needed to sit sideways on the bed…there were big pillows to make this semi-workable. Everything looked newish and worked. My only issue (and it is a pet peeve of mine) was the sticky floors. Kind of grossed my out, but I just made sure I had my slippers on. Not much of a view from this room.
I walked over to the Halifax Public Gardens in the morning…I recommend if you have the time. Overall, a quirky and nice hotel that I would have no problem recommending to a friend.

Moxy Halifax Downtown introduced me to the vibes of Halifax, N.S. Canada

Moxy Halifax is a boutique hotel with an upbeat, retro, and urban swag!
The room was cozy and had the style of an IKEA efficiency bedroom. The hotel lobby, the elevators, and the halls to the guest room have a dash of Hard Rock Hotels appeal. I enjoyed my stay.

Great place, loved the atmosphere. There was a DJ there on the Saturday night that we stayed. That combined with some free drink tickets made it really fun to hang out in the lobby/lounge. Will happily stay again.

Not the greatest stay

Bare bones hotel room. Uncomfortable bed, no closet, no room for multiple suitcases. Any extras are in a storage locker by the elevator. Try not to get a room on the lower levels because the bar is noisy. The staff was very friendly and helpful though

For 500 I got a closet with a double bed. The bar and lobby/check in should be two separate things main lobby’s a party and very confusing to navigate. Definetly wouldn’t go back.
