Lots of fun in the middle of nature!!!!
Great for children and teenagers. They can go on kayak and stand up as many times as they want. We saw an ant passing through the hotel. My son was delighted. Very friendly guides, especially Roger, very playful and attentive. Missed a more complete dinner or lunch. Plus, an unforgettable experience. We'll be back.

Worst stop on our Pantanal trip
We stayed here as part of a tour of the Pantanal. It was the worst accommodation on the two week trip. On the bus down the driveway through a jungle, we thought this would be a slice of paradise. We passed lovely huts (cabanas), and beautiful landscaping, as pictured for this hotel. Then we got to our disappointing rooms.
Our rooms were in brick buildings containing at least four rooms each—not individual cabanas. The rooms were small and dark. They required that you put a large key fob in a slot to get electricity, including AC, so the room is hot when you unpack and hot every time you return. The fob kept falling out at night, and I ended up using adhesive tape from my travel first aid kit to keep it in. One of the shower knobs came off in my hand on first use, as did the inside handle of the door to the room the next day. Management chuckled when told.
Breakfast was very good. Dinner was awful, with leathery beef and tasteless fried polenta, but served in a lovely location. One night we were in Bonito, the local guide advised us to skip the hotel food and took us to an excellent restaurant in town. Trouble is, the town is four miles away, and it’s not a quick stroll over for dinner.
The tour had us busy all day, and did not allow time to use any of the hotel recreation. We floated down a river elsewhere, and the waters around Bonito are beautiful so I imagine it would have been nice at the hotel. Perhaps had we had stayed in a cabana and used the amenities, I would have a more positive feelings. However the room is what we used, and our room and dinner were sub-par.

Meet and fall in love!
Hotel Cabanas - a privileged location between the Rios Formoso and Formosinho, as it offers activities such as Boia Cross and Flutuação, which put the tourist in direct contact with the surprising crystal clear waters of these rivers, of shades ranging from blue to green, as well as with countless fish, of all colors, who are so familiar with the tourists, who are quite oriented to respect this wonderful fauna, swim quietly next to us, making us part of that preserved natural paradise. The boys who guide us on the tours are attentive, careful and very well-humored and playful, which makes the tours safe and fun. In June the waters are cold, but for the Floating is provided the clothing of neoprene, which protects quite from the cold. We stayed in a large, very comfortable cottage. The breakfast was very well served and varied. I ate an unforgettable corn cake, made by cook Rose, a love of Cover. Caught my attention the good mood of the boys: Jagles and Anderson, from the reception, Flavio, from the boat ride, Everton, from the Flutuação, Vitor and Icarus, from the arborism. In short: Bonito is an unforgettable experience by nature and Hotel Cabanas welcomes the tourist.

Beautiful rooms but not so suitable for solo travelers
It is a nice hotel with various types of rooms. Breakfast is fine! Also dinner (you have to make a special reservation, most people eat in the town of Bonito or in their room with food brought). As a solo traveler, you get few contacts here.
Most visitors are locals who want to bathe and play in the rivers. I didn't need this much, I'm more of a walker.
Nearby the beautiful Baraco dar Araras, a huge sinkhole where the green-winged macaws like to breed and linger.
Also the Gruta do Lago Azul was beautiful!

Rustic Comfort Surrounded by Nature – A Memorable Family Trip
We stayed at Hotel Cabanas for 3 nights with our 10- and 11-year-old children, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. While the physical hotel rooms are not new or fancy, the surrounding natural beauty more than made up for it. The peaceful setting—nestled between two small rivers—offered a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in nature, which was a highlight of our trip.
We encountered some unexpected challenges during our stay, including car trouble and language barriers, but the exceptional service we received made all the difference. The staff stepped in immediately, arranging transportation so we wouldn’t miss any of our pre-booked tours. They also called a mechanic, had our car towed, and met us at the shop to retrieve the car.
A heartfelt thank-you to Marcio Ueda, the front office manager, whose kindness and dedication were truly remarkable. His help turned a potentially stressful situation into a smooth experience.
The hotel itself is full of outdoor charm and adventure. In the afternoons, we loved enjoying the on-site activities like canopy walks, tubing, and kayaking—perfect after a morning of outside excursions. The housekeeping staff added an extra special touch by creating new towel animals each day, like swans, butterflies, and elephants—something our kids absolutely loved.
We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was a pleasant surprise—the food was very good and convenient after long days of exploring.
If you’re visiting Bonito, we highly recommend Hotel Cabanas. The rooms may be simple, but the natural setting, warm hospitality, and excellent service make it a truly special place for families.
