A house through time……….

Just returned from a cruise starting in Barbados. We were four couples, and we kicked off our trip with four days at the Colleton Great house rather than our normal hotel to give us a bit more freedom. What a great decision this was. The house is a snapshot through Barbados history, but with all the modern equipment you require when on holiday.
The house is managed by the on-site couple Hadrian and Sharon, and with their team, they do an excellent job. From the moment we arrived they knew our names, gave us a guided tour of the property, set up key codes for the gate, and made us feel really safe and welcome.
Throughout our stay Hadrian booked us taxis (often with the very helpful Vivian) and helped with reservations, and Sharon was so knowledgeable on the history of the house and simply being there to answer our questions.
This is a beautiful house, superbly managed and maintained. I hope we have the opportunity to stay again.

A very special holiday experience.

My experience at Colleton Great House lived up to all my expectations. I can confidently confirm that the excellent reviews are entirely accurate.
Hadrian, Sharon, and the entire team look after the guests, house, and gardens beautifully. I stayed for a week and had a truly wonderful experience, with thoughtful care and attention throughout. I’m very grateful for the kindness and support shown to me, especially as I made the brave decision to holiday alone.
The atmosphere and décor of this historic building are quietly elegant and extremely comfortable. The sense of space and the soft breezes are uplifting and deeply relaxing. I especially enjoyed the social conversations at breakfast, which added warmth and connection to the stay.
This has been a very memorable holiday, and I would highly recommend Colleton Great House.

Fabulous!!

Historic Barbados at its absolute best. Warm and gracious hospitality in a beautiful great house with everything needed to relax and unwind after a day of exploring this amazing country. Make sure to watch the sun set while having an evening swim in the gorgeous pool! Breakfast on the terrace is a wonderful treat.

Fabulous stay

Colleton house is a lovely historic house that is a small hotel with converted out buildings in it's own gate grounds.
Set on a hill you can see the sea and on clear evenings wonderful sun sets.
We stayed for 8 nights, relaxing by the pool and using the house as a good base to explore the island.
Sharon and Hadrian take care of everything you need, nothing is too much trouble and if they can make it happen they will. They're just lovely!
If you want a luxury home from home stay, with great hospitality, this is the place to stay.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing with wonderful staff.

Colleton is a beautiful, historic guest house in a very private area, with gorgeous views of the water and setting sun. My husband and I loved our stay here and had we known how relaxing it was would have arrived in Barbados earlier to stay more nights.
The managers, Hadrian and Sharon, are wonderful hosts and made us feel like home. They gave us the warmest welcome with a decorated room and white wine for my birthday. They also had their chef prepare a delicious Barbados flavored dinner for us. Thank you to Hadrian, Sharon and all staff for making this time so special!
Pros: wonderful, friendly staff, very nice large rooms, upgraded bathrooms, very good food, beautiful grounds, nice swimming pool, interesting history.
We would most definitely stay here again if in Barbados, only longer.
