Recommended hotel

Have taken a bus trip to Carinthia in mid-May and stayed at Alexanderhof for 2 nights.
From arrival to departure everything fit and an extremely friendly staff including the hotel management was very accommodating and responded to requests friendly and competent.
Room was great and with nice balcony to lake- great view.
The food was always excellent both in the evening and the breakfast buffet!
The dining rooms and lounges are also particularly tasteful. The SPA area is modern and beautiful!
We're going to be this 1. Visiting this hotel as an opportunity also in the near future for a priv. Excursion to Lake Millstatt to stay in this hotel again.

Return to Millstatt for a long time

My expectations were met. A low-key family hotel in an exposed location. All a bit nostalgic but good, with a lot of dedication from the staff. Breakfast very extensive and good. Half board brought home cooking, well prepared. There is nothing negative to report.

A good place...

On holiday in Carinthia, we booked/stayed in this hotel that I did not know...
Nice and welcoming environment, spacious and very clean rooms, not air conditioned and without bidet.
The location is interesting, overlooking the lake.
Food is plentiful for portions, both for dinner and international breakfast.
The cuisine is typically Austrian, so for a guest (perhaps Italian), it is not always possible to appreciate certain dishes...
The staff is very kind and considerate, too bad that only two people speak Italian and otherwise better to know English or German...
The hotel is equipped with wellness and indoor pool and solarium...
Other services such as massage, beauty and gym are available for a fee.
The elevated position allows a pleasant lake view, but to reach the city center you have to walk or have a car.
The hotel is suitable for all age groups, including families.
Prices are competitive.
Overall a good structure, too bad that for some linguistic mishaps not everything went well ...

Beautiful stopover on the way to Croatia

On the way to Croatia we stopped at Lake Millstatt in the Hotel Alexanderhof.
Located beautifully above the lake and you have a fantastic panoramic view.
Rooms are spacious with balcony.
There is an indoor pool and a hot tub. The lawn invites you to relax. We didn't test the sauna.
We had half board. The food was delicious. Soup and a large selection of salads were available from the buffet. The main course could be chosen from a meat dish, a fish dish or a vegetarian dish. And finally we had a dessert.
The breakfast buffet was very extensive. The fried eggs were freshly prepared.
All staff are very friendly and accommodating and very child friendly.
We will definitely come back.

Beautiful view

It's a big hotel. We had a room with a beautiful view of the lake. The hotel is quite high. You don't walk right into town. The room was good and tidy but dated, certainly the bathroom needs a renovation. The cleaning of the room was really very good! The breakfast buffet was good, but dinner was varied. The reception by Anita was fine.
Certain people from the wait staff at the restaurant were really not service-oriented. Everything came across as very messy. The appearance of unity in clothing left something to be desired.
