Expected better
Anyway, I had already checked in online, and just grabbed the keycard and made my way up to the room.
I decided to order room service, and went for the 'Classic Caeser salad'. I always thought a ‘classic Caeser’ included anchovies, but alas, you will only find an anchovy white sauce splashed around your salad, y’know, the sort you can buy in a supermarket for $5 a bottle. And it only cost $30, plus a service charge of another $7. Seriously underwhelming.
For some reason, there was no hot water in bathroom sink, only tepid. Not sure if that is a safety issue, but it sure made shaving a challenge.
And whatever happened to a 'complimentary' bottle of water in the room? It was only on check out I found the still bottled water in the fridge was $5.50 for a 350ml bottle! Ouch.
Your room will be serviced every third day, under the guise of being ‘green’. (Nothing to do with cost savings of course)! If you would like it done more than that, you need to remember to put your service card on the outside of your door, before 2:00am to get it done that day. Keep in mind, the cost of my room for three nights was over $800, and they want you to make your own bed!
Free outdoor parking is available in the P4 Riverside car park – but make sure you get the front desk to validate your ticket before you exit the carpark, otherwise you will pay $25 for the day. This was not mentioned during check in, and I only found out about it after a Google search of the nearest carpark. Just put P4 Riverside into your satnav and it will take you directly to the carpark entrance. There are other paid options, including $80 per day for the hotel to park your car!!
On the plus side, the buffet dinner was fantastic. It is expensive at $89 per person during the week, but there is no shortage of food - seafood, meats, curries, desserts, etc. I recommend it, but not so sure I do the same for the hotel.
