Nice room in a older motel. Friendly courteous owners, providing excellent meals to the room. A comfortable overnight stay on our journey west.

My husband had a small service dog who assists him due to an Acquired Brain Injury resulting in visual impairments including but not limited to facial blindness, short term memory loss, visual and sensory overload and anxiety. The Indian owner said 'I used to drive taxis and that is not a service dog'. My husband proceeded to show him evidence as per medi alert bracelet; he also had a gambit of other evidence. That evening the owner stalked us ad 3x going out he was near, watching our unit even at one time sitting in his white 4WD looking! Perhaps it wasn't just us he was watching. Units have been allocated one car park but not enforced as some tradesmen use 2-3 parks so not able to park near unit. I informed Tracey in the morning that cups were not washed and 1/4 roll of toilet paper so we used paper towels. Although our service dog can hold it's bladder and bowels for a long time and did not soil the carpet, even if it did, it wouldn't matter as dirty carpet. I cannot comprehend how 4-5 stars ratings have been recorded as if authentic 4-5 star a higher nightly charge would be warranted, even $128 is a stretch and more like 2 stars. Perhaps family or friends visited and/or an alternative means to inflate prices; view other negative comments to confirm tte accuracy of my statement as confirmed by others!

Give it a miss unless desperate
Noisey basic smelly motel. Overnighter if desperate.
Dirty with fly screens falling off the ensuite window.
Beds are pretty hard.
People smoking right outside of rooms so you get that stink coming in and out of your room.
No food onsite, no reception to purchase noodles or microwave meals NOTE that nothing is open on a Monday in town except pubs.
Worst of this place is the INCESSANT all night TRUCKS ROARING PAST.
Dirty with fly screens falling off the ensuite window.

Overnight in Narranderra
Rooms are well appointed with space to move around. A great one night stopover motel. Beds were comfy. A great plus for the motel is being able to get a meal to your room and breakfast too. A good choice of food items, well presented and delicious

But it's only a stain....
I stayed at the Fig Tree motel a few years back on one of my motorbike trips. It was on a hot day, as on this visit. Then, as this time, the pool was also closed for "Maintenance". Probably just a coincidence. Other than that, I recall a comfortable stay, although I tend to be not overly fussy about accommodation when on the 'bike.
This trip my partner and I were on a road trip in the car. It's weird, but accommodation expectations rise when travelling by car.
We'd booked ahead, so check in was quick and easy. The room had digital security locks that worked well. The bed, at least, was clean and comfortable.
We tried connecting to the wifi but got "No permission to access" on our phones and tablet. Not a big deal. We switched to mobile data.
The air conditioner was an older in wall type and quite noisy by our standards, but OK, it did work.
There was no kitchenette, although basics for tea & instant coffee and electric jug were available. We had some difficulty filling the jug with water, which could only be accomplished by transferring one cup of water at a time using the tap from the bathroom's small basin, into the jug. I.E. the jug could not be placed directly under the tap.
After a good feed at the Ex-Servo's Club we got back to the room and tried to stream a movie. It went ok for awhile but about 20 minutes started severely buffering. Back to our phones and Chromecast.
Then I went to the bathroom. I looked up, which perhaps I shouldn't have. Above the shower recess the trap from the toilet in the unit above was exposed. The ceiling had an interesting texture, probably from attempts to patch past water or sewerage damage.
The real worry however was the trap pipe, which had some very suspicious brown stuff on it See Photo.
I mentioned it to my partner. She looked, made some weird noises, muttering something like "we have to leave now". Showering, despite the very hot day, had become "not an option".
After that we had difficulty sleeping, visions of brownish excrement hanging off the ceiling clouding our thinking.
At four in the morning we decided to leave. I wrote an email to the motel's management pointing out our discomfort, suggesting a bit of compensation would be desirable.
We had reached the Hay Plain when the manager called. She insisted "it is only a stain".
I gave my opinion; stain or not, the vision of it above the shower wasn't a good look. To say the least.
The conversation quickly took a nose dive, so it was ended.
There has been no compensation.
I can't recommend this place, but your mileage may vary.

Unfortunately fredz this isn't quite the truth, you in fact demanded a full refund after the fact and this is the second negative review you have given about your stay online. As advised on your previous review we don't advertise a kitchenette as we have an onsite restaurant, I also advised it could not have been a leak from the room above as it had not been used in over a week. We are an older budget motel (our room prices are reflective of this) and we are in the process of upgrading, I do admit the was a small stain which unfortunately as I advised was mould which had been cleaned but obviously did need to be attended to. For this I did apologise, however as you stated the conversation did take a nose dive, hence my unwillingness to speak to you any further.
