Noisiest 5 star hotel
It‘s pretty misrepresented. It‘s on a four lane highway. No life in the foyer (because of the highway noise). A fellow guest reported that one side of the hotel is un usable as there was no air conditioning and incredibly noisey.
Secondly, there is literally nothing around. Not in a peace and tranquility sense, more in a dusty highway with road construction sense.
The view is of the disused kids slope.
The interior is typical budget glam for the easily impressed. Check the map.
However, the manager did allow us to cancel and was very civil about it.

We would also like to clarify that our location in Soldeu is a deliberate choice, offering convenient access to the surrounding mountain activities while remaining immersed in the natural setting of the Incles Valley. Our main focus is precisely to offer our guests a place to enjoy nature, tranquillity and disconnection, with hiking, cycling, skiing during winter season (specially in our private ski slope) and numerous outdoor experiences available in the surrounding area.
Although the hotel is located alongside the road, all our rooms are equipped with soundproofing to provide a comfortable and restful stay. We understand, however, that each guest may have different expectations regarding location and surroundings, and we are sorry that the setting did not meet yours on this occasion.

We recommend this hotel
Our welcome was warm and personable by Armando, the Front Desk Manager and Alexandra. We went to see the Junior Suite that we had reserved and it was small (was it really 50m2?) and would not have been at all comfortable for 8 days—with no separate sitting area or space for two desks or tables. Armando suggested that we look at the Penthouse, 2-bedroom apartment and then made us a deal for half board for 8 nights. We took the deal. The room was personalized and Armando left us fruit and flowers as a lovely welcome.
All of the staff was friendly and personable; we met Emili Yepes, the general manager, Ricardo, the food and beverage manager and Gerard, the rooms manager. We felt at home. The view from our suite, looking toward the children’s ski slope and where the sheep grazed in the summer, was lovely.
The Penthouse at 100 m2 was a very good space for us. It was the only accommodation in the hotel that had air conditioning. Although it was not too hot in Andorra during the day, and it was cool at night, having the window open in the bedroom was not an option—the noise from the main highway was intense.
Our salon/living room dining room/kitchen area was large and had comfortable chairs for TV viewing. The kitchen had enough equipment to make it useful—even a microwave for our movie-watching popcorn. There was a dining table where Dimitri set up his desk. The sofa and coffee tables were off to one side and we didn’t actually use that area much.
To the left of the entry was a twin bedroom and lots of closet storage. We made that into the dressing/suitcase room. It had good furniture to sit on when we were dressing and the room worked well for us. There was a full bathroom over there which Dimitri used.
The bedroom we used was large and had a long table that Audre used as her desk. There was a window-door with a balcony and chairs overlooking the main highway but, with the soundproofing, we could not hear the highway. The room was large enough for a comfortable chair and a bench too. The bathroom off of the bedroom was large with a large shower (that had a window). There was a large walk-in closet off of the bedroom.
Each bathroom had a Duravit Japanese-style toilet. Unfortunately, neither worked when we arrived. Juan, the technician came and said he didn’t know how to fix them. Then Dimitri got his heated toilet seat to work (but no other function). Suddenly, all of the functions worked on Audre’s toilet. Audre kept it working, with help from Juan, and using a Duravit app. It was great when it.
A frustration was with the wi fi. It would come and go. Dimitri tried all kinds of solutions and it continued to be an intermittent problem for us during our stay. The IT technician came to work on the wi fi but it was no better after his visit (and maybe worse).
Another frustration was with the hot water. On the first day, there was only tepid hot water in Audre’s sinks and shower and in the kitchen. Juan the technician worked on it and, in the sinks, we had hot water. During our first showers in Audre’s shower stall, the temperature automatically went from comfortable to scalding, to cold and then back again. We asked for Juan to work on it but there was no change after he was finished. Audre learned to step away during the scalding and cold cycles. The same roving water problem was never solved in the shower of the second bathroom.
The lighting in the Penthouse was terrible. There were modern spots and it should have been much better. In addition there were sky lights in the entry hall and in our dressing room that should have helped. We asked for standing lamps and they made it better.
During our stay, both daily and evening housekeeping were very good. They learned our preferences and that was great. We had arranged for half board and the food was good. Alexandro was a great breakfast host. Breakfast had a large buffet on the weekend and a tiny one during the week. We could order eggs, even eggs benedict, and porridge. That made us happy during our stay. When we shared one 3-course dinner menu, it was plenty of food for us. Sophie was a lovely server and Dani was very helpful and good to talk to too. The food was good although the choices during our 8-day stay were limited. There were additional costs to certain items (beef tenderloin for instance) and we had to repeat some items. For dessert, Chef even made us a Basque/French cake especially. We were glad not to have to drive for dinner.
Audre used the fitness one afternoon and it was adequate. It had cardio machines but not any strength training ones. It did have weights that she used and a Life Fitness treadmill that worked well.

Wonderful experience at the Piolets cabin
Our stay at the Piolets cabin has been a dream! The location, the tranquility, the treatment from the Serras Andorra staff are incredible… the food and breakfast are spectacular! Cristian was always attentive to our needs and available 24/7! We will return without a doubt!

Excellent hotel
We have spent two nights in Andorra la Vella center and then we went up to the upper part of Andorra, because we felt like walking and mountain biking. We have tried the Serra Andorra in Xudeu for the first time and the truth is that it has been a success, very good service, plenty of space also to relax, a top-level spa and above all rooms, five stars, restaurant, very good, in short, a hotel that I can only recommend.
