Kleines einfaches Hotel mit hervorragender Küche.

Das Hotel-Restaurant Schauenburg ist ein idealer Ausgansort für das Erkunden des St. Wendeler Landes per Pedes oder per Rad. Bei Regen kann man gut ins nahegelegene Schaumbergbad gehen und ansonsten den Schaumberg ersteigen.
Wir waren schon öfter mit Freunden dort zum Essen, sehr netter Service, klasse Essen und sehr humane Preise.

Katastrophenhotel

Der Besitzer ist ein Kautz vom Feinsten. Wollte und zuerst von Grundstück verweisen.
Nachdem wie und als Gast bemerkbar gemacht hatten, durften wir dann bleiben.
Das Hotel hat die besten Jahre weit hinter sich. Zimmer abgewohnt, Dusche eine Frechheit, Frühstück einfachster Aldi Kram.
Nie wieder!

Achtung: Buchungen werden gecancelt!

Wir waren bereits zweimal Gäste im Hotel Schauenburg und haben durchaus zufriedenstellende Erfahrungen gemacht. Sehr einfache, rustikale Zimmer mit angemessenem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Frühstück muss man nicht unbedingt mitnehmen. Beim dritten Besuch aber der Hammer: Trotz gültiger Buchung über booking.com wurde das bereits mehrere Monate zuvor gebuchte Zimmer schlicht und ergreifend zugunsten einer Gruppe vergeben, ohne uns in irgendeiner Form Bescheid zu geben. Dreist wurde sogar versucht, uns die Schuld hierfür in die Schuhe zu schieben, weil wir uns ja nach der Buchung nicht mehr gemeldet hätten. Keine Entschuldigung für das eigene Fehlverhalten in Sicht. Ich hoffe Booking macht den Inhabern ordentlich die Hölle heiß. Also vor Anreise auf jeden Fall noch einmal eine Bestätigung einholen, um böse Überraschungen zu vermeiden. Ich werde dort auf jeden Fall nicht mehr buchen.

Trotz Buchungsbestätigung von Booking wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass wir kein Zimmer bekommen können.

Wir hatte eine gültige Buchungsbestätigung von booking.com für zwei Einzelzimmer. Bei unserer Anreise hat der betagte Wirt uns mitgeteilt, dass er unsere Zimmer leider anderweitig vergeben hat, da eine Gruppe gebucht hätte.
