We found this hidden gem after deciding to stay in Hartzen for another day with our two little kids.
It is located by a nice creek and a lovely little public playground which my kids had great pleasure taking adventures around. Furthermore, it is obvious that the (friendly) manager cares for the place. Had a great talk with him!
The staff was pleasant and the location is truly unique. Great stay, dinner and breakfast for a very decent price. Great service too.
Definitely gonna book more days next time we visit Hartzen!

Warning: chances are you want to come back!
Well... another one of those hotels where there really is nothing to complain about. How annoying.
We came up with the idea to be nice and critical. Unfortunately, Hotel Zur Luppbode did not cooperate at all. The owner and staff continued to be friendly, helpful and convivial. Really unprofessional if you want something to complain about.
The room was so clean that we seriously thought we were the first guests ever. Not a speck of dust, not a smudge, nothing at all. That is of course a missed opportunity for the fanatical reviewer.
And those beds... they should have warning stickers on them. "Beware: high chance of a wonderful night's sleep." Before you know it, you'll wake up rested. Disgraceful.
Then the wines and beers. Things went wrong there too. We were supposed to have one and go to bed on time. That plan held for about three minutes. The atmosphere was just too cozy.
So here's a word of warning: don't go here if you like stress, noise, bad service, dirty rooms or backache after a night's sleep. You will relax here, eat and drink well, sleep well and reluctantly go home.
We're already bummed that we have to go back... purely to check if it's still so ridiculously good next time.

We would love to come back.
We were in the Harz with a larger group and chose the Hotel zur Luppbode as our accommodation! It was a pleasant week! The owner and the staff were very nice and polite. The rooms are standard but very lovingly decorated! The food was always freshly prepared and everyone enjoyed it!
All in all, a very successful stay!

Gladly again
A very sweet, clean and above all friendly place.
The room was really nicely decorated, you could tell that the small details were chosen with heart. Communication before arrival was exceptionally friendly and even on arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner. The breakfast buffet was adequate and really delicious and the staff was also very friendly and also took time for a short chat.
We would love to come back

Beautiful house without friendliness
We were traveling as a hiking group ( 7 people) from Thale and wanted to return to Thale. After an arduous descent (very slippery ), we wanted to get some rest before we went back again.
A beautiful house invited us. But the welcome was more than unkind. Why we wouldn't have made a reservation before. And that's where the sound makes the music. Yes, why, I guess, because we didn't know where and when we were arriving.
I understand if tables are pre-ordered and we would not have been able to get a seat. But it was all empty at that point. I am not used to such a treatment as a guest , and hope for subsequent guests that this was an exception. Otherwise, the offer was okay.

Es hat ein wenig gedauert, bin fast vom Stuhl gefallen, als ich die Bewertung gelesen habe.
Immer schön zu lesen, wie Gäste ihren Aufenthalt bewerten.
Da haben Sie bestimmt ein paar Gäste übersehen, ihre Gruppe war wesendlich größer als 7 Leute. Kann ja mal passieren.
Wir haben 1 Koch und 1 Servicemitarbeiter und da ist es sehr ratsam einen Tisch zu reservieren, damit Sie als Gast nicht enttäuscht sind, dass das Essen so lange dauert.
Der Ton macht die Musik, genau. Gleich bei das öffnen der Restauranttür haben sie gezeigt wo es lang geht und wer das sagen hat.
Sie wollen etwas und wir sollen es soooofort besorgen.
Ein Imbiss wäre eine optimale Lösung für Sie.
