Luxury, tranquility and warmth combined
Having been a guest at the Hotel Duene a few years ago, I was now able to spend another wonderful holiday there in March together with my partner.
Already on arrival we were very lucky: We received a free upgrade as well as a surprise menu at the Coast restaurant, a really successful and generous gesture.
Our suite was tastefully decorated and more than large enough for two people. The accommodation in the main house was particularly pleasant, from which we had direct access to the wellness area. At certain times we could even enjoy this all to ourselves:)
The staff, both in the hotel and in the restaurant where the excellent breakfast was served, were warm, attentive and pleasantly relaxed throughout. The atmosphere at the Coast restaurant, which we visited several times, was relaxed and welcoming. The food was excellent every time.
In our view, the price-performance ratio is hard to beat for Sylt standards. Especially in the low season, the island shows its calm, relaxed side.
We would definitely come back!

Fantastic accommodation!
What can you say! A relaxing stay on Sylt couldn't be more perfect. We had to book very spontaneously and in the selection of accommodation we just went according to our gut feeling. The rooms and the descriptions about the portals sounded very good, but you have to say that you are then much more enthusiastic on site. In our room we immediately felt comfortable, the bed was very comfortable, modern and cozy interior, clean and pleasantly quiet and enough opportunities to relax. The staff and service on site were just incredibly friendly and helpful. The food at the Coast is highly recommended, fantastic quality and again the service is great. We will certainly come back. Thank you!

Great location, nice staff // Cleanliness
We stayed at Apartment Syltsterne & were basically very satisfied.
The cleanliness of the apartment was not entirely satisfactory -- very dusty (certainly not beneficial for allergy sufferers) surfaces + books behind the bed very dusty.
The water in the spa was pretty cold, but that's a matter of taste, I think.
Otherwise the stay was very nice!

Very good hotel - with offers in the low season
We were at the Hotel Duene for the first time with our dog. In the low season, the hotel has attractive offers for traveling with a dog, so that for us, the bottom line was a very good price-performance ratio. We had a room in the main building, Duene. This and some other rooms have their own entrance at the back, which is particularly convenient with a dog. There is a cloakroom on the ground floor of the room, and a relatively steep staircase leads to the 1st floor, where the main room and bathroom are located. An even steeper staircase leads to the 2nd floor, where there is another, smaller bed and storage space in the attic.
Our room was furnished to a high standard and everything was in good condition. The room has a coffee and tea station that was refilled every day. The initial stock of the minibar was included in the room price. Also available: a large wardrobe with a safe and a radio. The bathroom had underfloor heating. The bathroom was relatively large, but due to the sloping ceilings, the space was only OK. The shower was very large. There was sufficient water pressure. The room cleaning was OK, but could have been more thorough.
The swimming and sauna area is OK for a hotel of this size. However, it is not inviting to linger (in the basement, only two loungers in the passageway, 4 other places to sit). The pool water was relatively cold, the sauna and steam bath were pleasant to use for two people, anything beyond that would be too cramped in my opinion. It was OK for us, we did not choose the hotel with this in mind.
Breakfast is available for hotel guests in the Coast restaurant. The service from the ladies was extremely personable and friendly. The dishes that require refrigeration (sausage, cheese, fish) and the egg dishes are served. Exemplary for avoiding food waste. However, this only works if you ask the guest beforehand what they would like and do not simply put the standard selection on the table. From the second day onwards, however, the friendly staff had remembered our preferences. Suggestion for improvement: A menu with the breakfast standards served and a board with weekly or daily specials would optimize the process and clarify some questions in advance.
Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely come back.
