Good rooms near the town centre
The position is near to the town centre and the railway station but a bit away from the newer developments where the old military camp was. Your choice of where to stay may be influenced by where you are going in the daytime. There are a couple of car parking spots but after that one would have to find a public place.
This hotel is somewhat odd in that the rooms are physically separate from the reception which is at the bar of the associated restaurant. In other words, the rooms have their own entrance a bit similar to going into a block of flats! That makes it easy to come and go at any time using the main door key.
One other consequence, is that there is no wifi in the bedrooms but it is freely available all day in the restaurant.
The rooms are a reasonable size and the double glazing keeps out most of the street noise, we slept well.

für einen Kurzaufenthalt in Ordnung
Die Zimmer waren geräumig, sauber und funktional. Die Betten sind bequem und der Service freundlich. Frühstück war maximal durchschnittlich, Internetverbindung ist sehr langsam und komischer Geruch im Treppenhaus.

Auf der Durchreise lecker gegessen
Mit dem Camper angekommen, suchten wir spontan ein Plätzchen um noch etwas zu essen. Diesen haben wir im Dithmarscher Hof gefunden.
Ehrliches, gutes deutsches Essen in großen Portionen. Wir haben ein Mal die scharfe Currywurst mit Pommes und das Kalbsschnitzel mit Jägersauce gehabt. Die Qualität war sehr gut. Das lokale Dithmarscher Pils ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen.
Insbesondere das Personal hat sich große Mühe gegeben. Wir werden sicherlich auf einer der nächsten Durchreisen wieder hier Halt machen.
