The Staff was very kind.
Since we were new to the area, he taught all of the place to visit, and the good way to catch tuktuk.

Felt Safe, Warm, and Completely at Home

I had a wonderful experience staying at Zostel Srinagar. The manager and staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I reached very late at night, tired and hungry, and they still prepared hot food. But the truth be told that the food I ordered was simple dal and roti which turned out to be quite expensive. I would highly recommend to try local cuisine elsewhere unless one is in my desperate situation.
My dorm bed was neatly made, extra comforters were provided, and the entire space was spotless. Although they have mixed dorms, I ended up having the whole dorm to myself, which made the stay even more peaceful.
What stood out most was how homely the place felt. They maintain cleanliness beautifully and genuinely care about travellers feeling safe and looked after. I left with a full heart and would definitely stay again.

Unprofessional Management – Cancelled Bookings Without Notice

I had a very disappointing experience with Zostel Srinagar regarding my bookings for February 2026 (Feb 3–4 and Feb 19–21).
I booked through Booking.com, and the property cancelled my reservations without any direct effort to contact me. No phone call, no WhatsApp—nothing. They claimed they sent an email regarding an advance payment, but in today’s travel world, relying solely on a single email for a long-term booking is highly unprofessional.
If a property requires a prepayment that wasn't made mandatory by the booking platform at the time of checkout, the least they can do is call the guest before abruptly cancelling their travel plans. This lack of basic communication shows a total disregard for customer service.
Prospective guests beware: Even if you have a "confirmed" booking, they might give your room away without even a courtesy call. Very unreliable for anyone planning a serious trip to Kashmir.

Amazing Cab Driver. Mr. Shariq.

During our stay at Zostel Srinagar, one of the standout highlights was the cab driver they hired for us Mr. Shariq. He was incredibly trustworthy and went above and beyond throughout our trip. Not only did he ensure smooth travel but he also helped us shop for local items like Pherans and Zaafraan. We formed a genuine bond with him, and I am writing this review specially to appreciate him and help him get more customers. If you come to Srinagar, do ask for Mr. Shariq.
As for the property itself, I found Zostel Srinagar to be somewhat below par compared to other Zostel locations I have stayed at such as Delhi, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Some aspects of the standard double room were disappointing for instance the bathroom windows didn't have doors, the washroom curtains were untidy and the washroom lacked a water outlet near the bath area. Additionally, the twin room didn't have a room mirror, which was inconvenient
On the positive side the staff were efficient and were always ready to help the travelers in any way they could. The restaurant also offered good food at a reasonable rate. .

Perfect for solo travelers, nice clean property

Perfect for solo travelers, excellent property, very clean and good upkeep by the team. Mr. Irfan is very kind and helpful. Though located near Nishat bagh which is far from the city centre, it is easily accessible by shared taxis and buses. Easy 10 mins walk to dal lake.
